The Triumph of Divine Servants

Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) states:

When you find the Mahdi, perform bai‘at at his hand. You must go to him, even if you have to reach him across icebound mountains on your knees. He is the Khalifatullah, [he is] the Mahdi.”

        - (Sunan Ibn-e-Majah, Kitabul-Fitan, Babu Khurujil-Mahdi, Hadith no. 4074)

The Promised Massih Hadhrat Ahmad (as) says in Arabic:

Laa waliya ba'di illallazi howa minni wa ala ahdi-    There is no Wali after me except one who comes from me and has a relationship with me [“ Khutbah Ilhamiyyah”, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 16, pp.69-70; Internet Edition ]

The fulfilment of these Divine prophecies has taken place in our times, with the raising of Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius as the Khalifatullah, in complete obedience to the Holy Prophet (sa) and the Promised Massih (as), as per the glad tidings they have vouchsafed to the humankind in general and the Muslim Ummah in particular.

Mubahila: Khalifa Sani and the Ahmadiyya Sects

Today, among the followers, or those who have accepted the claims, of the Promised Massih Hadhrat Ahmad (as) in the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya, one can count six different, denominational sects: Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Qadian, Anjuman Ahmadiyya Lahore, Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Al Muslemun, Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Islah Pasand, Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam and the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Haquiqui

The recent Mubahila between two of the Ahmadiyya sects- Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam and the Jamaat-e- Ahmadiyya Islah Pasand is entering into a different stage now, with the Mujaddid claimant Abdul Ghaffar Janbah Sahib and his Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Islah Pasand declaring for himself a “clear victory” through his recent speeches. The boastful claims from the Janbah Sahib came after the completion of two years of publishing/uploading the official Mubahila Document in the respective official websites.

In contrast to the approach of the Janbah Sahib, Hadhrat Imam Muhyi-ud-Din Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba)  and the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam  has taken the position that the Janbah Sahib is gravely mistaken in his approach and perceptions and also in his appreciation for himself in the context of the Mubahila. Janbah Sahib is ignoring a profound fact about the situation: he had entered into the Mubahila, half-hearted and reluctant, as is so apparent from the way he conducted himself and his failure in fulfilling the simple procedural requirements in their full measure. He should not have abused the fact that Allah (twa) is compassionate and overlooks the mistakes and sometimes extends the days of people in His Wisdom. Insha Allah, the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam is certain to serve the purpose of renewal of faith in our times, and there are glad tidings for those who are steadfast and do good deeds in the path of Allah.

The result/consequences of the Mubahila is itself a trial for the believers, especially for all Ahmadis found in the various sects of Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya today. Given that all parties to the Mubahila are alive and positive factors that give personal and subjective satisfaction can be, and had been, shared from both ends, whose claims of decisive victory needs to be accepted may yet remain shrouded for many believers, especially those who have veils over their eyes which haze their spiritual vision. In his Friday Sermon of March 21, 2014 the Khalifatullah Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius spoke about the questions that are most relevant for those who analyse the Mubahila situation.

Nikah-related Sanctions in the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya

Ahmadis are among the finest and ardent advocates of freedom of conscience. Yet, the Jamaat today is   practicing thought control through intimidatory strategies of expulsion and boycott. If an Ahmadi today wholeheartedly believes in the continuity of Divine guidance as explained in the tenets of the Promised Massih (as) and acts upon that belief by recognizing and accepting the new Divine Manifestation, he or she could and would be expelled by the Jamaat system. Such a person is further liable to be socially boycotted by the community of his own people. Individual Ahmadis, including close relatives, are obliged by the system to break the ties of kinship with those who accept the new Mujaddid.

A central offence is deemed to be committed by, or attributed to, a member when he or she invites such a relative to the family functions, including Nikah. The punishment for such independence of thought may range from loss of office functions to even the expulsion from Nizam and the common workers are deprived of their  basic rights and even their very livelihoods. The scales of justice are blatantly uneven and tilted invariably in favour of the elites and their cronies who can and will manipulate the unscrupulous in the system to get out of difficult situations. The situation in Maurititus is illustrative of the wider malaise of thought control, lack of empathy and dreadful intolerance, systemic injustice and mindless nepotism plaguing  the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya today.

Ahmadi Elites and the Politics of Boycott

Will a Mujaddid come after You?’

A man asked this pertinent question to the Promised Massih Hadhrat Ahmad (as) on 29 September 1905, before noon. And he [the Promised Messiah] replied:

What is wrong with a Mujaddid coming after me? The prophethood of Moses (as) had come to an end, and that is why his chain of successors ended with Jesus (as). However, the dispensation of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) will last till the Day of Judgment through the Mujaddidin who will arise in it till the Day of Judgment. As long as the Day of Judgment withholds its destruction, there is no doubt that someone else could come. We most certainly do not deny that good and righteous people will continue to come, and then all of a sudden the Day of Judgment will come.” ( Ruhani Khaza’in, p. 16180 , Malfoozat. volume 4, page 452; (2008 edn.)

Despite the existence and vital presence of this important instruction from the Promised Massih (as) in his writings, endorsed by the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya through its own series of publications, the Ahmadi scholars today challenge common sense. They assault the intellects of Ahmadis and their spiritual expectations. The Ulema and the chiefs declare with their own mouths that no Mujaddid will ever come, even in a new century of Islam. They, thus, foreclose the possibility of any discussion on spiritual blessings possible in this age. The hedonistic elites of the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya in Mauritius enforce the policy of intimidation and social stigma on those who wish to know about the new Divine Manifestation.

I ask these arrogant people who are taking themselves as great scholars in the Jamaat Ahmadiyya Where have they seen that they must establish boycott? Is there a Quranic verse which stipulates to boycott someone who receives divine revelations and those who have believed in the revelations which he is receiving from Allah, and to expel them from the Jamaat Ahmadiyya and boycott them?

Prove this to me, or even show me a Hadith on this subject. Prove if you can, and prove also if even their family members had to break ties (of kinship) with them and not to greet them Salam and not to invite them. What law have they applied? The Quranic law? The rulings of Hazrat Muhammad (saw) and Hazrat Massih Ma’ud (as)? The law of the country?

Rule by Family Elites in the Mauritius Jamaat

Or have they invented their own laws to make people fear them, because the Jamaat Ahmadiyya of Mauritius is governed by only a handful of families:  Taujoo, Jowahir, Sookia etc.? As if there exist no other people in this Jamaat who can take care of the Jamaat Ahmadiyya in Mauritius.

Years go by, new years come, the same people are found at the head of the Jamaat! In the several programmes also, they are the ones to come forward to get honour, as if there are no other wise people, even better than them, who can come and address them on the question of religion! This is a Jamaat which is managed only by a handful of families, family feelings!

Social Boycott in the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya

The Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya has a standing official policy of socially boycotting all those who have accepted the Divine servant, Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of MauritiusEver since the official expulsion of this recipient of Divine Revelations in the year 2001, the leadership has been hell-bent on dissuading the common folks from taking spiritual benefit and solace from recognizing the Messenger of Allah.

The policy means that members of the Qadian Jamaat are encouraged to break up the ties of blood and of family and kinship with their close relatives and family friends, only because the latter chose to follow and thereby, exercise their freedom of conscience, personal conviction, and individual choice on a question of profound spiritual import for all Muslims- the Islamic duty and spiritual obligation to recognize and accept and work with the Divine Elect of their times.

Yet, the Jamaat seeks to defend the indefensible. They mix and blur the legitimate and the prohibited- to make it look like the good and the bad are indistinguishable. For that, they even drag in the name of the Holy Prophet of Islam (sa) himself, to argue that social boycott was practiced even in early Islam. To delude themselves that the Holy Prophet (sa) is on their side in this.

The duplicity and stupidity of the social boycott agenda is self-evident in its contradictory strands and ironic implications. The same Ahmadis who boycott their fathers and brothers and sisters for accepting the  Divine Manifestation  have no qualms about joining atheists, Hindus, Christians, other Muslims and even pagans in all that they do. They take themselves as lords beside Allah. Yet, the present Khalifa is not a Messenger of Allah, with a divinely commissioned role and it is a mere boasting of vain desires that he has a religious mandate to boycott a servant of Allah. Despite the grand-standing, the chiefs in the Jamaat betray the grip of a fear psychosis in their tantrums: that the common folks may eventually see through the gaping holes, break the ranks and join the Mujaddid and by way of abundant ‘caution’, they have instituted the boycott programme.

O Mullah, do you own a Visa to Paradise?

Allah (twa) will not raise a "Muhyi-ud Din" among the people but for the all-pervading decline of spirituality among the masses and the classes. By looking at the statements of the ‘leading divines’ in the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya in Mauritius and the thought processes it alludes to, one can easily discern the trappings of blind faith in the community. The Mullah brigade in the Jamaat has been vocally opposing the Divine Mnaifestation in Mauritus and they deviate the common folks about what it actually stands for. They oppose the new Mujaddid only because they have deified their Khalifa to the point of believing that the “visa to Paradise” is issued at the feet of his office! Serious blunders pass for spiritual doctrines and religious practices trample upon the teachings of Islam, as taught by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) and by the Promised Massih (as). The "Visa to Paradise" is not for those who stiffen their minds about the Divine Teachings.

The Ahmadis think that they are the best among all (Muslims/people) and that they have received the visa to paradise because they have believed in the Promised Messiah (as). They are trampling the divine teachings, the teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (saw) and also those of Hazrat Massih Ma’ud (as) and they say that Khilafat is our life’, despite all the serious blunders they are committing!

Ahmadis: Mundane Wealth as Divine Favour

AN AMIR ON "DIVINE" FAVOUR

It is sad that we (people) are nowadays more materialistic and running after mundane favours and have let go of spiritual favours. If today we find ourselves in the Jamaat of Hazrat Massih Ma’ud (as), where there is a representative of the caliph (Amir) who is talking of mundane favours in a Jalsa Salana, and wherein he said that Allah (swt) has bestowed a lot of favours upon us the Ahmadis, such favours which we did not have long ago.

He stated that long ago there were only one or two cars in the yard of Daras Salaam (Mosque), and now there is not enough place in the yard of the Mosque to park the cars. He went on to say that today we have received more favours whereby we have now (in our households) washing machines, rice cookers etc. This Amir takes such types of favours as great favours, but let me tell him that these kind of favours, even the unbelievers/infidels have these, even more, the other Jamaats (in Islam) who do not believe in Hazrat Massih Ma’ud (as) also have received those kinds of favours, even more (than the Ahmadis).

When you see that an Amir of the Jamaat of Hazrat Massih Ma’ud (as) is making such speeches, this is an indication how much the teachings of Islam, and especially Ahmadiyyat, which was supposed to represent the true Islam, has been trampled under the feet/crushed in the hands of these so-called chiefs of the Jamaat. The Amir of Favour speaks on mundane favours, but what do Allah, His Rasul (saw) and the religion of Islam in general mean by ‘favour’?

‘O Muhyi-ud-Din, Arise and Create a New World !’

March 7 is an important day in the history of the new Divine Manifestation in Mauritius. It was on this in the year 2000- exactly 14 years ago- that Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius first spoke to a friend about the glad tidings of a spiritually-edifying dream, foretelling the advent and inaugural of the Divine Manifestation. In terms of the new Mission and its mandate of reformative intervention, the Divine Revelations from the very early days clearly pointed to the appalling decline of spiritual quality among the contemporary Ahmadi Muslims. At a time when Ahmadis have ‘embraced’ and elevated the institution of khilafat over Tauhid, Allah (swa) revealed to His Chosen Reformer for the new century extraordinary dreams and Divine messages filled with spiritually-uplifting prayers at the dawn of the new century, in the year 2000.

In the revealing testimonial of Mukarram Zafrullah Domun Sahib, one could read one such revelation: O Muhyi-ud-Din, arise and create a new world! The teachings of the Promised Messiah have been trampled to dust…. They give khilafat more importance than My divine words (Holy Quran), the sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad  (sa) and the teachings of the second Issa (the Promised Messiah).

Behind the ‘Expulsion’: A web of Lies

Why and how did the Ahmadiyya Community expel Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius from its ranks? It is a question that still baffles most common Ahmadis and remains hazy and unclear to many others even today, some 12 years after the dark episode.

Anyone who examines the record of the incident will point a finger at the arrogance and hubris at work in the Nizam-i-Jamaat. The nizami mandarins never had the humility, nor basic courage to face the truth, nor the simple decency to place the record in public: in black and white, before the Jamaat and the common Ahmadis, so that everyone may know what really happened behind the scenes. After all, justice demands fairness, credibility and transparency: a decision taken in the name of the Jamaat and in the name of the collective interest of the common Ahmadis, the record should have been available for scrutiny.

Before the official expulsion in 2001, Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) was falsely charged with the grave offence of pretending to be a recipient of Divine Revelations. He was accused of being a drug addict” and “mentally-sick person” (“Bimaari”). Within the Nizam-e- Jamaat, those in the corridors of powers plotted a web of intrigues in support of these wild and irresponsible allegations. False testimonials of self-serving sycophants were lifted from the trash-cans to ‘grease’ the case. The ‘slippery’ basis of the evidence did not deter the Fourth Khalifa from his chosen course of hubris and ‘curse’: only to fall-flat on the dustbin of history.  The failure to see through transparent lies, intrigues and false testimonials- all planted and facilitated in the official channels- will remain a blot on the record of the Fourth Khalifa.

The humiliation of those who facilitated the crime of expulsion was a chronicle of events foretold at the very court of Allah (twa). Thus, in a Divine Revelation received on 09 April 2002 & many other times also, Hadhrat Sahib (atba) was informed: “I Shall Humiliate Him Who Designs To Humiliate Thee

We record below the Divine vengeance for one of the culprits for his despicable crime of complicity- one who sought to humiliate the Divine Messenger for our times meets with his day of public humiliation among his people.

Divine Revelations: A Challenge to Doubters

Some of the Divine revelations received by the Khalifatullah Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius and duly notified in the official website of Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam recently generated a controversy in the Ahmadi circles. For some people, the remarkable and unmistakeable similarity one could find and observe between the recent revelations and the revelations descended on the Promised Massih (as) in the previous era, is a matter of utter surprise and sheer disbelief. For them, the new English statement of Divine Revelation published by the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam in its official website and Blog is nothing but a cut-and-paste job from the previous one translated by the late Zafrullah Khan Sahib and published by the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya.

Matters pertaining to the varied dimensions of Divine reality are generally beyond the comprehension of most common folks. Doubters and disbelievers surgically scrutinise the contents of Divine revelations when they are available in their midst. And they go on to project their critical/rational analysis of Divine Revelations! With their prejudiced hearts, jaundiced eyes and blinkered perception, these persons parade their sheer ignorance of this complex subject through their shockingly callous remarks, unaware of the subtle, Divine Hands at work and accuse the Divine Messenger of what they are familiar with: cut-and-paste job!

In his Friday Sermon of December 13, 2013 the Khalifatullah Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius provides illuminating guidance on how to look at questions surrounding Divine Revelations, as they are often beyond the comprehension of most people.

Read the Extracts from the Friday Sermon:

Very often people misunderstand messengers of Allah in that which they can, without really knowing the circumstances, state that we are people who get angry very quickly or that we sometimes do what people usually are forbidden to do like lying etc. I had already explained to you about the latter subject found in the example of Hazrat Yusuf (as). The divine plan demanded at the time of meeting with his brothers that he say such words which would force his real brother to stay with him. In the eyes of man, this would easily pass as a lie, but not in the eyes of Allah.

Exclusion of Ahmadis from HAJJ: A Grave Error

Performance of Hajj is one of the fundamental religious obligations of the Muslims. Yet, today Ahmadi Muslims are legally prohibited from enlisting themselves for the same, as the Ulema in Pakistan have succeeded in writing their bigotry and intolerance into legal injunctions. The Saudi Arabian authorities who take pride in the title of “Custodians of the Holy Mosques” have failed to estimate the gravity of their mistake in preventing those who believe in Allah (twa) and His Messenger from doing Hajj. The Kaaba, in the course of its several millennium of history, had witnessed some tragic transgressions, including the installation of idols and the taking away of the Black Stone itself for a period of time. Allah the Most High has informed the Khalifatullah Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius that the present legal restrictions/ religious prohibitions would also be thrown into the dustbin of history as it unjustly prevent the Ahmadi Muslims from being able to perform the Hajj.

Read the Extracts from the Eid-ul-Adha Sermon, delivered on 16 October 2013:

And who is more unjust than he who prevents (men) from the Mosques of Allah, that His name should be remembered in them, and strives to ruin them? (As for) these, it was not proper for them that they should have entered them except in fear; they shall meet with disgrace in this world, and they shall have great chastisement in the hereafter. A Warning to Khalifatul Massih V

Recent Bai’at of some Ahmadis in Kerala, India at the hands of the Khalifatullah Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius has unsettled the mercenaries and officials of the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya. So much so that they used all channels possible and methods feasible to deviate these devout Muslims from their chosen path of recognizing and accepting the Imam of the Age!

Family pressure, society pressure, money pressure and employment pressure-nothing could deter these courageous young men from following the path of Allah and moving away from the ‘comfort zone’ of all they knew as common Ahmadis coping with the trials and tribulations of everyday life. Those young men have patiently and bravely put up with all the mental torture, harassment, intimidation and satanic curses showered on them by people who call themselves ‘Ahmadis’. The egregious misconduct of the so-called mainstream is nothing but the satanic manifestations of the extent of their deviance and polar-drifting from the original teachings of the Promised Massih (as). As the Holy Qur'an indicates, it is indeed the youth who will begin to listen to a Divine Messenger when such a one arrives in a society where the Pharaohs and the great men will only seek to doubt and ridicule!

For thoughtful Ahmadis, there is little doubt. Khalifatul Massih V Mirza Masroor Ahmad Sahib presides over the age of spiritual darkness and blatant idol-worship in Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya. Unfortunately for him, the Khalifa does not enjoy the Divine converse despite the pretentions of office and the protestations of the faithful, nor could he produce any shred of evidence of being a recipient of Divine revelations in the last 10 years of his temporal “Khilafat”. It is manifestly apparent and reasonably obvious that Allah (twa) has never appointed him to convey any Divine message to the world in His name and whatever he says and writes is purely what his inner self prompts him to do and everything he says is nothing but the product of his own mind and deliberation (if not that of his advisors)! In short, his ‘ideas’ are as good or as bad as any other human mind could conceive it.

In an age in which Ahmadis have taken their Caliph as “the calf” (Idol), the ‘Samiri’ will suggest only what his mind conceive of (Holy Qur’an, 20:85-97), the Caliph cannot speak with the authority and conviction of an Elect of Allah, a KhalifatullahWhen the Prophet Moses (as) went for a few days to his Lord to do his obeisance and seek Divine blessings, the Samiris of the day digressed back the people into idol-worship. When Allah raises a Moses (Divine Elect) in a new age and that too, a century after the last Elect, he will warn the Samiris of the age. Taking serious note of the mind-games and psychological warfare by the Ahmadi leadership in India, in a special Speech on August 14, 2013, the Khalifatullah Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius commented upon the incidents against the larger backdrop of the terminal decline of spirituality among the Ahmadis of today.

A Message to All Seekers of Truth

Whenever a Divine Messenger is raised in the world, it represents a spiritual test for all believers. To re-examine the validity of one’s father’s traditions and other inherited notions of belief systems requires a full commitment to be aware of the larger truth of the Divine reality. A matching humility of the heart to accept and follow the narrow and straight path of the Divine as one finds it is also necessary. Likewise, a courageous spirit to face the world with one’s innate conscience and the confidence of one’s convictions rooted in the sublime feeling of being mindful of Allah (twa) in all of one’s deeds constitute the identity of the new believer. Thus, to accept a Divine Reformer in a new era often means to put Allah (twa) and His judgement over all our ‘comfort zones’ of family and friends, relatives and brothers in faith. To be on the vanguard of creating a new world by following the Divine servant requires one to believe that Divine guidance is true guidance.

Muslims, including the Ahmadis, today face this challenge of spirituality as Allah (twa) has raised His Messenger in the personhood of the Khalifatullah Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius in the new century of Islam. It is for them to shun the arrogance of intellectualism and the hubris of special claims of Divine privileges and to adjust their spiritual doctrines and theological understandings to match step with the times of a Divine Messenger. In August 2013, some members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Kerala followed their innermost spiritual convictions and accepted the new Mujaddid of the era, leaving aside their previous association with the man-elected Khilafat system in the Jamaat-e- Ahmadiyya.

In a special Message issued on the occasion of the new Bai’ats on Saturday, August 10, 2013 the Khalifatullah (atba) reflects upon the empirical conditions in the Jamaat-e- Ahmadiyya that has necessitated the raising of a Divine Reformer as per Sunnat Allah (Divine practice) and also on the trials and rewards that await those who follow true Divine Guidance.

Persecution of Ahmadis in Indonesia

The on-going campaign in Indonesia, to ban and persecute the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community underscores the challenges facing the nation in protecting human rights, forging a secular identity and strengthening the spirit of democracy and rule of law. It is worth recalling that freedom of belief is a fundamental human right, guaranteed by the Indonesian Constitution, and no citizen can be denied this right on the grounds of his or her beliefs. Any thinking citizen would agree that as a religious order, the Ahmadiyya has every right to preach and propagate all of its doctrines and beliefs. It is immaterial for a secular state whether the beliefs or ritual practices may or may not conform to the beliefs and practices of the other denominations in Islam.

The religio-political campaign obviously seeks to discredit the teachings of the Ahmadiyya community and to call attention to the "danger" faced from this intrinsically peaceful sect of Islam. Instead of displaying sectarian intolerance and moral bankruptcy, the orthodox leadership would do well to engage the Ahmadiyya Muslims in a theological, civilized, intellectual debate and thereby show a modicum of respect for the faith, intellect and convictions of ordinary Muslim citizens and others.

The sectarian politics of religious mobilization and its current manifestations will have divisive implications for the country's plural future. Clearly, banning the movement to prevent its spiritual appeal or declaring it a non-Muslim minority to stop its growth is not the business of a secular government. Leaders of the country and conscientious citizens would do well to reflect over the politically disastrous and socially divisive legacy of Pakistan's experiment with the criminalization of the Ahmadiyya sect. Social scientists and political analysts have, in recent times, traced the growth of Muslim extremism and cultural intolerance in Pakistan and elsewhere, to the divisive politics of anti-Ahmadiyya rhetoric.

At one level, what is at stake is the very notion of human rights and rule of law in a secular democracy. Extremists and right-wing Muslim orthodoxy should not be allowed to dictate the future of Indonesian identity. At another level, perhaps even more importantly, what is at stake for devout Muslims is the very meaning of being a Muslim in our times. After all, the Holy Qur’an explicitly states: "Let there be no compulsion in matters of faith." Islam's plural character and legacy of religious tolerance needs to be defended, ironically enough, against an "orthodoxy" that claims to represent it!

In an article published on The Hindu, one of India’s leading newspapers, on June 15, 2013, Pallavi Iyer has thrown searching light on the persecution of Ahmadis and other minority religious denominations and the growing signs of cultural intolerance in Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim country.

Mubahila Statement on Nasir Ahmad Sultani

In the Friday Sermon of May 31, 2013, the Khalifatullah Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius invited Dr. Nasir Ahmad Sultani Sahib of Jamaat-e- Ahmadiyya (Haqiqi) to a Mubahila duel to finally determine the truthfulness of their respective claims. In the aftermath of the Speech, the Sultani Sahib issued his response on June 1, 2013. In the response statement, the Sultani Sahib maintains and continues with his earlier stand of rejecting and vilifying the viewpoint of Hadhrat Khalifatullah (atba) and his claims. Yet, the Sultani Sahib has refused to come in the field of Mubahila now, by raising a revolving door-set of arguments.

Sultani Sahib is absolutely certain that the duration of the Mubahila, according to Islamic teachings, should be fixed 1 (one) year”.  According to him, if the period of Mubahila is varied from one year- for instance: say, any period more than one year, including two years- by the parties to the Mubahila for any reasons whatsoever, it would not be permissible under Islamic law nor acceptable to Sultani Sahib. Further, Sultani Sahib considers such a variation of period a wrong condition of Mubahila. Although Sultani Sahib did send an official e-mail on 12 December 2011 whereby he “accepted the Challenge” of Mubahila made by Hadhrat Khalifatullah (atba), he did not complete the minimum requirements for the world to know that he is indeed in a Mubahila (such as signing the Mubahila document and notifying the world by publishing it in his website). At least, now we know: the ‘reason’ for not joining in the Mubahila challenge at that point of time was this “wrong condition”!

Sultani Sahib now refuses to join the Mubahila Challenge with Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba). This is because of the presence of the 2-year Mubahila between Hadhrat Sahib (atba) and Abdul Ghaffar Janbah Sahib of Germany.  According to Sultani Sahib, the Islamic period of the Mubahila-“one year”- is over and both have been proved to be “liars”! If the ‘result’ of the (non-Islamic) Mubahila between the two is crystal clear to the “Mujaddid of 15th Century of Islam”, why should he wait for a longer period to prove his own truthfulness!??

In a special Booklet issued on June 2, 2013 the Khalifatullah Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) has prepared and personally signed an Official Mubahila Document with “ONE YEAR” as the limitation period. Dr. Nasir Ahmad Sultani Sahib has now the option to “come forward and sign” or move away and “keep quiet” on the matter!

Khalifatullah Visits Rodrigues Island

With the objective of spreading the message of Islam and to attend the meeting with his disciples and other truth seekers and well-wishers, the Khalifatullah Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) visited the Rodrigues Islands (located in the heart of the Indian Ocean) last week, May 20-24, 2013. The visit assumes importance as the island has a special significance in the history of the Divine Manifestation in Mauritius. Years before the Divine call and the descent of Divine revelations entrusting him with the larger mandate of revival of Islam Din in this era, Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) used to preach in the Island, calling people to the truth of the Promised Massih Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as). In his Friday Sermon of May 24, 2013 made brief remarks in which he touched upon the contemporary context of his visit within the wider backdrop of the persecution/evil plots he has had to endure from the Jamaat-e- Ahmadiyya in the last decade as a consequence of his Divine mission.

Read the Extracts from the Friday Sermon:

“It is a pleasure for me today to address my Rodrigues brothers and sisters. Today is the salaam is extended from Rodrigues to all nearby islands – Mauritius, Reunion Island, Mayotte, Seychelles, Comoros, Madagascar – Kerala, Trinidad & Tobago, Japan and other countries in the world where we have our members, to all I extend my Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullah Wabarakaatuhu (greeting peace, grace & blessings of Allah be upon you all).

‘Scheming Ahmadis, Allah shall turn you Upside Down!’

When a people enjoy a period of peace and mundane security, and are blessed with material wealth and numerous children, they often drift away from the path of purity and prudence and fairness. It is in such times that Allah raises a Messenger among them to invite them back to the path of spirituality. Yet, when such a Messenger does appear among the people, their arrogance will exalt their pride in defiance against Allah. Invariably, they seek to oppose the Messenger and oppress the early believers who bear witness to the truth of the Messenger. Thus, those who follow the Messenger shall find themselves thrown into the maelstrom of trials and tests of faith whenever and wherever they seek to raise the flag of the Divine Messenger.

It is but a tragic irony of history that often the persecuted themselves behave like their tormentors when they become affluent and influential in the land. Today Ahmadi Muslims in the Indian state of Kerala-where they enjoy religious freedom and the liberty of preaching- have acquired the ingredients of their tormentors in Pakistan. And they seek to torment the other Muslims-members of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam who follow the Messenger of Allah of our times, Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius. The Sahih Al Islam Blog itself has witnessed and recorded a number of such incidents in the past couple of years whereby members of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam have come under various kinds of persecution tactics by the mainstream Ahmadis in the state.

In recent times, Kerala Ahmadis have set afoot evil plans intended to humiliate and harass the believers in the new Messenger of Allah. In their war against the new Jamaat, the Ahmadiyya establishment in Kerala is seeking to co-opt and deploy all indirect means of confrontation. They attack the common sense of intelligent people by preaching goodness and practicing hatred by other means. The methods they prefer include the conduct of hostile propaganda against the Jamaat by inciting anti-social elements in the villages where the new Jamaat is present. They seek to confuse the members of other religious communities- Hindus and Christians in Kerala- by keeping deafening quiet when these elements describe the new Jamaat as an international “terror” group and the members as having a secret agenda.

TEN YEARS of the Divine Manifestation

From the long and great history of the arrival of Divine Messengers in the world, believers have numerous lessons and insights to keep in mind. Every Messenger has to go through countless trials- his own people will turn back on him and boycott him. His own people, who may have received countless signs and blessings, may desert him in the hour of need. Countless years may pass by, before the world begins to take notice of the Divine Message in full measure, just as it happened in the time of Jesus (as). It may also happen that those who desert the Messenger may later realise their mistakes. They might return to the path of rectitude eventually, as did the brethren of Yusuf (as) in another time and space.

The need for the appearance of a Divinely-raised Messenger in this era among the Ahmadi Muslims has been fulfilled with the raising of the Khalifatullah Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius. Thus, 19 April 2013 (08 Jamad’ul Aakhir 1434 Hijri) marks an important milestone in the sacred history of modern Islam. For, it was on this day in 2003 that the Jamaat of the Divine Manifestation took their first Bai’at in the hands of the Khalifatullah (atba). The first Bai’at was held in the house of Hazrat Ummul Mumineen Sadr Sahiba Fazli Amena on the second storey, at Louvet Avenue, Quatre-Bornes.

The fact that the Divine Manifestation in Mauritius has completed 10 years in relative obscurity will only surprise those who have no knowledge or understanding about the working of the spiritual realm. The duty of the Divine Messenger is only and merely to convey the Message; Allah the Most High is the Reckoner. There are indeed many spiritual lessons and lofty insights to be derived by observing and understanding the Divine favour on the Khalifatullah and how he goes about with his deep and unwavering commitment to advance the cause of Allah and His Message in the last ten years.

It is instructive for Ahmadis to understand that the emergence of the Divine Manifestation in Mauritius coincided with the decline in physical health, spiritual faculties and eventual death of the Fourth Khalifa of the Jamaat-e- Ahmadiyya, Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad Sahib. In his last years, the ageing Khalifa was already in a zone of his own, where he was in constant need of sound advice for prudent governance of Jamaat affairs. Yet, as it happened, he was badly advised regarding the nature and character of the Divine Manifestation then emerging in the horizon of Mauritius. Unscrupulous and scheming people, who worked behind the corridors of influence, suggested vanity of office and pride of legacy. Instead of showing humility and open heart to understand the lofty claims and spiritual verities on offer, the Khalifa chose the other road. May Allah forgive him for his blurred vision in his last days, Ameen.

Experiences of Divine Revelation: Then & Now

And it is not for a man that Allah should speak to him except
by revelation or from behind a veil or by sending a Messenger
to reveal by His command what He pleases. Surely, He is High, Wise.”
                                                                             -  [Holy Qur’an, 42:52]

Allah the Almighty raises His Elects in every era. The sublime purpose is to guide and lead the people in the Straight Path of Divine Favour.  To teach them wisdom and judgement, Allah (swt), thus, reveals His Messages to His chosen servants and the miraculous power of the Lord Almighty is experienced by the people in countless ways.  The great blessing of Divine revelations and guidance with which the Messengers are invariably blessed with, point to their Divine nearness, help and succour. The shadow of Divine Mercy and Grace protects the Messengers from harm in the complex contingencies of their everyday lives. Truth seekers know that the Promised Massih Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) of Qadian had left a graphic portrait of aspects of Divine revelations as he experienced it. Indeed it would be spiritually uplifting and intellectually enlightening for common folks like us to look for similarities in the experiences of Divine revelation by claimants to this august office. Today, we have thus an extraordinary opportunity: to see and bear witness to the magnificent, living reality of Divine revelations! For, we are living in the times of a Messenger of Allah in the person of Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius who is a recipient of this uncommon and precious privilege of Divine Mercy. Alhamdulillah Rabbul Aalameen

It is astonishing to note that there are remarkable similarities between the Promised Massih Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) of Qadian and his spiritual progeny, the Khalifatullah Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius, although their times are separated by a century or so. In this article, we discuss one such similarity.

Mukarram Zafrullah Domun Sahib, who at one point of time in his life led the Jamaat-e- Ahmadiyya Mauritius as its National Amir for almost a decade, had written a personal, comprehensive and scholarly testimonial to the truthfulness and veracity of Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) and his claims. This document is an authentic, living testimonial/record of an intimate witness to the phenomena of Divine revelations descending upon a man who claims for over a decade now on the basis of the Divine Mandate that he is indeed the Imam of the Age. This testimonial touches upon, and captures the essence of, the experience of Divine revelations descending upon Hadhrat Khalifatullah Sahib (atba) in the early days of the Divine Manifestation. We reproduce below extracts from this document and also, place before you, similar extracts from the writings of the Promised Massih (as) pertaining to the experience of Divine revelations. It is, of course, for the discerning readers to read and reflect upon and derive appropriate conclusions from here.

Zafrullah Domun Sahib records in his official DeclarationDuring the course of those conversations I understood that he was receiving several revelations and that through the dreams, visions and revelations we were being told about matters of which we knew not. Our attention was being drawn to several verses of the Holy Quran, to known and unknown ahadiths , to several prayers of the Holy Prophet Muhammad  (s.a.w), to prayers, the source of which we were unaware of, and also to extracts from the Promised Messiah's books or from his malfoozaaat. At the same time we received long texts on particular topics pertinent to spiritual understanding and elevation: what is Islam, what is the meaning of God being close to man, zikr , tawhid , the condition of humanity, international current affairs, religious reform, the necessity of revelation, and many others. I have to confess here that later on we became aware that many of the texts received already existed in one form or other in some books or articles but we were not aware of them when they were being received. As far as we are concerned many of these materials were new to us and they were spiritual delights.
These revelations were sometimes received in English or in French or in Urdu or even in Arabic or Persian or sometimes even in our local dialect Créole but most of them were in French or English. Whatever was received in Urdu or Arabic or Persian was followed by a translation so that we might understand the message….”
Now, it would be interesting to observe the experience of the Promised Massih Hadhrat Ahmad (as) on the matter of Divine revelations descending upon him:

“During the process of writing Arabic, hundreds of complete sentences descend upon my heart, either in the form of verbal revelation or in the form of a writing on a paper which is shown to me by an angel. Some of these sentences are verses of the Holy Qur’an, or similar to them with minor modification. Sometimes I only find out later that a certain Arabic sentence that had been revealed to me by God was in fact present in a certain book. God, being the Lord of everything, has the authority to reveal to my heart a fine sentence from some book, or an exquisite verse from some book of poetry. So much for Arabic, but even more surprising is the fact that I receive revelations in languages like English, Sanskrit or Hebrew, with which I have no familiarity whatsoever. Some specimens of these were included in Baraheen-e- Ahmadiyya. God, in Whose hand is my life, is my witness that this is how He has been dealing with me. This is one of the signs pertaining to matters of the unseen that continue to be revealed to me in various forms. My God cares not if any phrase that is revealed to me happens to figure in some Arabic, Sanskrit or English book, because for me it is a matter of the unseen…”  -[ Nuzul-ul Masih, Ruhani Khasa’in, vol. 18, pp. 434-436; Essence of Islam, vol. V, p.157]
