Invocations to Allah- Part 1
And when My servants ask you, concerning Me –
indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls
upon Me. So let them respond to Me (by obedience) and believe in Me that they
may be (rightly) guided. (Al-Baqara 2: 187).
Today is the 8th of Muharram of the
year 1439 AH. We Muslims, should be grateful that Allah (swt) has given us our
Islamic year/ calendar and it is verily mentioned in the Quran and Hadiths that
this (i.e. Muharram) is indeed a blessed month. Allah mentions in the Holy
Quran that there are four sacred months for the Muslims and that peace should
be preserved during these months. There should be no fight/ battle/ war, vain
and endless disputes/ discussions which are aggravated for nothing! Bear in
mind that all these are highly detestable in the eyes of Allah.
Beware! Let us not attract the wrath of Allah
(swt) upon us because of trivial matters. We need to concentrate deeply on the
deeds we are doing and see whether they are being done for Allah solely, or as
a show - for the eyes of people.
I ask all brothers and sisters in Islam to make
lots of duahs (to invoke Allah a lot), to ask help from Allah, and we
need to unite, and not be divided. I ask you to listen to all that I am telling
you. From this Muharram 1439 AH to the next Muharram 1440 AH - believe me
brothers and sisters - there are a lot of happenings/ events/ catastrophes
which shall occur: earthquakes, floods, lots of people shall lose their lives,
atrocious crimes, wars/ fights (nations against nations), blood of innocents
shall be shed. Corruption shall cause havoc in several countries; the powerful
(more precisely, the powerful countries) shall crush down the weak ones, and
don’t forget that Islam also is in danger. That is, the Muslims’ lives are in
danger, especially wherever they are in minority.
O Muslims and Muslim countries! Listen, take
into consideration the sufferings which our Muslim brothers and sisters are
undergoing. Let us unite. Unity is Strength. Let us not be divided. Let us
forget our difference of opinions. That which is coming ahead shall be
atrocious, very hard. Let us not fight among ourselves. O Arab countries! Allah
has given you lots of riches, so help your brothers and sisters who share the
same faith (religion, Islam) as you and do not be beguiled by others to kill
your Muslim brothers and sisters, those who share the same faith as you.
I ask you to take this into consideration and
start counting - from the 1st Muharram of this new year 1439 AH till
its end. Write down all that which shall happen throughout the world and even
small islands and even all that which is found in the Indian Ocean (and its
vicinity) shall not be spared from divine punishment, in the form of
earthquakes, floods, great wars which shall be very difficult to stop. Believe
in what I am saying.
O Muslims and Humanity at large. Take
precautions and stock your food - buy, keep, preserve. Another thing which
shall cause the death of man are illnesses. There shall be a deadly virus which
shall appear and cause havoc everywhere and till the time a remedy is found,
millions of people would have already died. Such is the image of the end of
time (i.e. the Day of Judgement). It is not only that one day when everything
would cease to be at once, but when millions of people die, this is verily a Qayamat
(Day of Judgement/ end of time) for them.
Take your precautions O my brothers and
sisters. Make lots of duahs. Perform your Salaat/ Namaz (prayer)
regularly and in addition to this, perform a lot of voluntary prayers also (Nafil
Salaat/ Namaz). Fill your lives with invocations to Allah (i.e. duahs). Turn towards (the) Religion (of
Allah, i.e. Islam), read the Quran and give away lots of Sadqua
(charity) because this shall verily be a (great) trial which shall overcome all
mankind.
Let us change our lives in a positive way to
please Allah and not to attract His anger. Let us keep ourselves attached more
to Deen (the religion - Islam) than to anything else. Let us attach
ourselves firmly to Allah. Only Allah has the power to save us from these great
calamities. Insha-Allah.
O brothers and sisters! Fill yourselves with
piety! Have Taqwa (i.e. the fear of Allah). Be humble; do not become
neither arrogant nor avaricious, nor proud/ vain. Do not do things which shall
displease Allah. Let us do that which shall make Allah (swt) happy with us - and
that which shall make Allah love us - with all our deeds which we do, in one
same voice, as one same body, i.e. the body of Islam. We need to turn to Allah
altogether (as one body) so that Allah may spare us from these great
calamities, and all that we have said (i.e. Allah and His Messenger through
divine revelations). So Humanity as a whole, acknowledge this Divine Light,
this divine message and accept the Messenger of Allah of this era. Insha-Allah,
may Allah give me the Tawfeeq to talk on this subject more profoundly
very soon through video addressed to all Muslims and all members of the Jamaat
Ul Sahih Al Islam. Insha-Allah.
So, like you all know, we are in the sacred
month of Muharram. It is a month which is filled with divine blessings and favours,
wherein we need to maximize our time in Ibaadat (worship). Insha-Allah.
We must see to it that we do not lose these
divine blessings and favours. We must not reach such a level where after having
taken the path of spiritual reform, we retreat into our old (bad) condition and
we let ourselves be tempted by all the evils of Satan and thus lose everything
- all blessings, favours, divine grace - and what is more grievous, is that we
lose Allah (swt).
So, we must not recede to such abased level. We
must not lose our Rab (Allah). We must be ready to lose all that which is
temporal to this world, but we refuse to lose Allah (swt)! If Allah is with us,
then all is with us, even the mundane means, but if Allah is not with us, then
nothing shall be with us, despite the illusion that one may have that he
possesses enormous amount of wealth/ riches. Bear in mind that all these are
temporary - for a short span of time, and indeed Allah can reduce all these to
naught in a blink of an eye (in a second). You lose everything both on earth
and in the hereafter, and what is more grievous for a Muslim, is that he/ she
loses Allah. By then, Allah would have gone far away from you because you have
let yourselves be tempted with Satan more, and you have let yourselves be
attracted by all things which he (i.e. Satan) has beautified in your eyes to
make you deviate from Allah (swt) and the right path. On the other hand, those
who keep themselves firm on the right path, they always preserve the acts of
worship which Allah has ordained them to do, and they don't want to lose Allah.
In other words, they want to have Allah alone as their reward. And when they
receive Allah as reward, they seize the opportunity to ask their Rab whatever
they need like we have seen in the verse which I have recited before you and
which is found in Surah Al-Baqara. This verse acts as an eye opener, to make
them conscientious of the fact that they need Allah (to have whatever they
need, even to have Allah Himself).
If you read the Holy Quran, you shall find
therein such duahs (invocations/
prayers) which has been taught to us by Allah Himself, such duahs which He wants us to direct to
Him. Moreover, when you read the Hadiths and Sunnah of our beloved prophet
Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh), you shall see the great number of duahs he has taught us, such duahs
which are essential in our daily lives. And with the advent of the Promised
Messiah Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), he also taught us some duahs in his books. These were revealed duahs, taught to him by Allah, and
indeed we are really fortunate that we have recognised and accepted the
Promised Messiah (as), and this is indeed an additional boon for us in our
spiritual lives.
[Thereafter, Huzur (atba) proceeded to take the
defence of the Promised Messiah (as) and informed the congregation that some
imbeciles (from among Muslims/ so-called Muslims) have labelled the Promised
Messiah (as) as Dajjal (Anti-Christ). God Forbid! He informed the congregation
that personally speaking and in the name of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam, we
have firm belief in Hazrat Massih Ma'ud Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), in the Musleh
Ma'ud Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad (ra) and even in the caliphs after
him (i.e. those caliphs who came before the advent of the Divine Manifestation
of this era - even the fourth caliph). He condemned the Bahast (meetings) being
done at the Quran House where the Muslims there have been calumniating the
Promised Messiah (as) - treating him as Dajjal - and he condemned the
missionaries of the Jamaat Ahmadiyya who have not gone ahead to refute them.]
For example, there is a revelation which the
Promised Messiah (as) received on the importance on duahs, and which is found in his book Tiryaaqul Qulub, pg.
70. The revelation is as follows: “Tell them: My Allah shall disregard you
in you don't invoke Him (i.e. make duahs).” Hazrat Massih Ma'ud (as) has
also received the following revelation: “Then Who listens to the
supplications of all people who are in need and who call out to Him?”
In his book, Aïna Kamalat-e-Islam, Allah
revealed to the Promised Messiah (as) the following:
ادْعُونِي
أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ
Ud’ uni astajib lakum
“Call
Me and I shall respond to you.”
So, how fortunate we are, for the greatest
weapon which Allah has equipped us with is not a destructive one to be used to
kill innocent people, such as bombs. Indeed such destructive weapons are being
used in such a way that they are projecting a despicable image of Islam. And
thus, people are believing that Islam is a religion of terrorism, whereas Islam
is in truth a peaceful religion preaching submission to a Unique God.
Coming back to the subject of duah, a believer must maximize his time
in duahs. A believer must become like
a fish which cannot live without water. Without water, it dies. And a believer
without duah is spiritually dead. Duah keeps a believer always alive, and duah is a great weapon for a believer.
Allah (swt) has said in the Holy Quran:
اللَّهُ خَيْرٌ
حَافِظًا ۖ وَهُوَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Allahu khairun hafeezan wa huwa Arhamur-Rahimeen
Allah's
Guardianship is Best, And He is The Most Merciful of those who show Mercy.
Therefore, let us invoke Allah (make duahs)
as thus:
رَبِّ أَرِنِي
كَيْفَ
Rabbi arini kaifa tuhyil Mawta
“O
my Lord, show me how You give life to the dead.”
ربِّ زدنی علماً
Rabbi zidni ilma
“Oh my Lord! Increase Me in My Knowledge.”
The latter duah
is a duah which I have always advised
the members of the Jamaat to read, especially the students in their studies.
And there is also a very interesting duah which is found in Surah Nuh, Verse
27 against the disbelievers:
رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْ
عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ دَيَّارًا
Rabbi la tazar alal arzi minal kafireena dayyara
“My
Lord! Do not leave a single dweller from among the disbelievers on the land.”
رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا
فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ
Rabbana aamana faktubna ma’ ash-shahideen
“Our
Lord! We believe; write us down among the witnesses.”
رَبَّنَا افْتَحْ
بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الْفَاتِحِينَ
Rabbanafta bainana wa baina qaumina bil haqqi wa anta
khairul fatiheen
“Our
Lord! Decide between us and our people in truth, for You are the best to
decide.”
قُلْ أَعُوذُ
بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ وَمِنْ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ
Qul ʻa-uuzu bi-Rabbil-Falaq, Min-sharri maa khalaq; Wa min-sharri
gaasiqin ʻizaa waqab
“Say:
I seek refuge in the Lord of the Daybreak, From the evil of that which He
created; From the evil of the darkness when it is intense.”
I continue to present before you some more duahs.
There are some which have been
revealed (to me) and which can already exist and are found in the Quran,
Hadiths or anywhere else, and even such duahs
which have not been revealed before. Allah knows best. But all these are duahs which Allah has revealed to His
chosen servant. Alhamdulillah, I need to be very grateful to my Lord,
Creator of the whole world. Indeed, by the immense grace of Allah, I feel very
fortunate that Allah (swt) is teaching me these duahs and I am distributing these spiritual treasures with you.
Verily, you are also very fortunate to beneficiate from spiritual treasures
also. A believer must always remember that he should always make Allah become
his priority in life.
So, the following are duahs taught to me by Allah (swt):
رَبِّ لاَ
تَذَرْنِي فَرْدًا وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْوَارِثِينَ
Rabbi la tazarni fardaw wa-anta Khairul Waritheen
“My
Lord, do not leave me alone and You are the best of inheritors.”
If you analyse this duah, you shall see how Allah (swt) has accepted this particular duah which He has Himself revealed to
me, and this duah has been fulfilled
when the mainstream Ahmadiyya Jamaat expelled me from the Nizam-e-Jamaat
and told me to go found my own Jamaat and with arrogance, said that when one [more
specifically, two] goes, millions shall enter the fold of the Jamaat
Ahmadiyya (Ahmadiyya Muslim Community).
Are you presently
seeing millions entering the fold of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (Ahmadiyya
Jamaat)?
Now, as the Caliph of Allah (Khalifatullah) of this era, I can say
that by the grace of Allah that many people are integrating the Jamaat Ul Sahih
Al Islam in groups, in such countries as Comoros, Mayotte, India - Kerala -
Tamil Nadu, Malaysia etc.
It is indeed a great divine grace that Allah is
opening the hearts of these people to recognise a Khalifatullah and to accept
his mission amidst them (you) all in this present era. So, I humbly say that
Allah (swt) has not left me alone. Despite that He is the Best of Inheritors
that a person can wish to have, but in addition to His presence by my side, (in
addition) to His trust and love which He has poured down upon me, He has also
given me disciples in several countries throughout the world. This is what is
called divine favour and also proves the veracity of His chosen servant.
Due to lack of time, I need to stop my sermon
here today. Insha-Allah, next week (next Friday) I shall continue on the
same subject. I end with this beautiful duah
which Allah has taught me:
O Allah! You exist for all times,
And shall continue to exist
infinitely.
I seek You alone,
It is You the Aim of my
existence.
Without You, I am nothing.
O Allah! I am thirsty for Your
Love;
Complete Your Love in me.
O Allah! I am a miserable one who
seeks Your Mercy;
Complete Your Mercy in me,
So that I become that powerful
Light-giving Lamp (Siraj-um-Munira)
of this era;
Which shall frighten away all
Satans.
Make me become such a Light,
From Your Light,
To guide all mankind to You exclusively.
O Allah! Love me for all times
(as You have neither a beginning nor an end;
Your existence is endless).
Illumine me with Your eternal
Light,
And always look at me,
With eyes of Love and Mercy.
Never shall You abandon me,
This, I know,
For You are the One
Who has raised me,
And You alone shall
guide me on the Right Path.
It is You the One Who
teaches me,
How to guide the rest
of Your servants to Your Right Path.
In You I place my
trust,
And it is You alone
my Solace;
Such Solace which has
neither beginning nor an end.
The one who has You,
O Allah,
Is truly fortunate.
Make me become Your
ultimate instrument in this era,
To illumine the
hearts of Your servants,
Of all humans,
So that You alone
remain in their hearts,
And that they may not
deviate from Your Right Path.
O Allah, the Ultimate
Goal of my existence.
Accept my duahs
directed to You.
I was an ignorant,
And it is You Who
taught me what I did not know.
Always remain with
me,
For it is You alone My
greatest Support. Ameen, Summa Ameen, Ya Rabbal
Aalameen.
----Friday Sermon of 29 September 2017 (08 Muharram 1439 AH) delivered by Khalifatullah Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius.
