'Be Helpers in the Cause of God'

Become the Helpers of Allah!

O you who believe! Become helpers of Allah: As said Jesus, son of Mary, to the Disciples, ‘Who will be my helpers in the cause of Allah?’ The disciples answered, ‘We are Allah’s helpers!’ then a portion of the Children of Israel believed, and a portion disbelieved: But We gave power to those who believed, against their enemies, and they became the ones that prevailed.” (As-Saff, 61: 15)

In the history of nations, on occasion they are obliged to take certain basic decisions. This had equal application to worldly as well as divine communities. When confronted with such situation, using a well-known phrase, they have to decide: “to be or not to be?” This is the question. Today the question is whether you will advance or you will perish.

In the religious world, since the origin of faith is divine, this option is not applicable. It is already decreed that the divine communities will advance. There is never a question of retreat. For the achievement of the goal set for them, they are always prepared to sacrifice all. Such an occasion has now arisen in the history of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam. The verse that I have just recited is most appropriate for our times also.

Even if Jesus (as), the Messiah and the Prophet of Allah is dead, but his image has come yet again in this era through the will of Allah to give you all a new lease of life. Had the Christians and Muslims understood the real scope of this truth, they would have stopped waiting for the physical descent of Jesus, son of Mary, Prophet of Allah to the Israelites.

Now, a new era has dawned. This era is that of Islam and perpetually so, till the end of times. Even though the origin of all religions or faiths is divine, but through the course of all these centuries, people have lost their original essence, i.e. the unity of God. Thus, with time, association with God became widespread in religions which were basically monotheists and true. Their teachings were falsified to quench the thirst for power of the modern divines [i.e. the high priests, pundits, etc.]

But now, with the rise of a Man of God who has come in the mantle of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to revive the true teachings of all previous faiths, the time is crucial, and help is needed to break all false doctrines which have crept in the pure faith.

The Holy Quran instructs those who believe to enlist themselves as: Helpers in the cause of Allah, in the same manner as Jesus (as), the son of Mary who asked his disciples: ‘Who amongst you will help me for the sake of Allah?’ So Allah enabled a party of the Children of Israel to believe while another party disbelieved.

Furthermore, Allah says: “We gave power to those who believed, against their enemies, and they became the ones that prevailed.”

The mention of this incident in the Holy Quran seems exceedingly surprising when we consider the insignificant resources available to those from whom Jesus (as) sought help. They were only a few penniless, hermit-like individuals. They lived in a great western dominated empire, borders of which extended from the west right up to the far east. In the towns and the regions in which they resided, they had little influence. They were so oppressed and helpless when Jesus (as) was crucified, they could do nothing. Does it not seem strange that Jesus (as) sought help from a people who apparently was unable to assist? Yet the attention of Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) was drawn to this incident and he was instructed to address his followers in similar terms.

We need to remind ourselves that the disciples of Jesus (as) were persecuted not because they were poor and powerless but because of their faith in Jesus (as), one who proclaimed himself Messiah and who questioned the deviating practices of the Jews of that time. They being persecuted on religious grounds, suggest that the help which the Messiah Jesus (as) and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) sought are remote from worldly affairs. In other words, the help that Allah sought from them was not material.

Thus, apparently, not being a worldly matter, the need of the hour was not for the services of hardy, bold warriors nor the wealthy nor powerful prominent statesmen of the world. Indeed not one from among such elite groups had presented himself to render such sacrifices. Only from among those who had been deprived of their rights of citizenships; only those who were ridiculed, abused and mercilessly beaten and dragged in public streets; only those who despite their helplessness and disabilities, rose to the occasion and were invited by Jesus (as) to be enlisted as helpers of Allah. Had this not been a hidden message of great significance, this incident would not had been conveyed by Allah while addressing the Holy Prophet (pbuh), instructing him to seek help in similar terms. Does this aspect not seem surprising?

Let us look at it from another view. Does Allah ever need help? Help in fact originates with individuals who, oppressed or in dire difficulty seek help from Allah and other human beings like themselves. Allah is Self-Sufficient and does not require any help. As we are his weak creatures, it is us the needy, not Him.

Today also, the time is critical. Man has lost his bearings in faith and even he may be called Muslims on the lips, but his deeds do not reflect Islam. And because of this drifting away from the teachings of Allah, non-Muslims, especially the great worldly powers seek to crush the Muslims, seeing them as a menace. Secretly, they fear that if ALL MUSLIMS were to be re-united, they will conquer the world and act as a great barrier to their vain desires, and Islam will spread throughout the world, taking charge not only as a faith but also as the Way of Life, as a ruling government.

Today also, despite not belonging to the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam, but our other Muslim brethren are sufferings greatly in the world. Recently in India also, the callous Pharaoh Narendra Modi with his project to make India, an All-Hindu Nation is crushing the Muslim refugees in India, denying them of Indian citizenship just because they are Muslims! As for non-Muslim refugees, they do not suffer the same fate as the Muslims.

So, you see how this Quranic verse applies today as it applied in the times of Jesus (as) and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh); in fact in all eras of prophets and elects of Allah. So, as long as we are not prepared to help with all our heart and soul in the cause of Allah, His succour will not descend. We need to be united. Allah wants us to be united. If the Muslims do not realise this now, then when will they realise?

Allah is not influenced by the numbers, strength or exalted position of the followers of any group. Those numbers and apparent power are completely irrelevant, for the power of Allah overpowers all. But Allah by way of trial seeks to know to what extent the people are prepared to help Allah, i.e. to fight for His cause, to fight for truth.

As for the dictators and power-thirst people, Allah can finish them in an instant. In less than a second, He can command doom for them. This question then comes again: “to be or not to be?” In a flash, they can be gone like they never existed! But there is an appointed time for everything.

As for the true and devout Muslims, despite their lack of worldly riches, but Allah has to the power to make them the masters of this world, both spiritually and materially. But the help which Allah seeks from the believers is of spiritual significance. If a poor person has 7 (seven) rupees and he gives all of it in the cause of Allah in a spirit of sacrifice and piety, do you think Allah will not help him? Will Allah not be pleased with him? Does Allah on His own need his little money? No! But what Allah means is that with each money that they make the effort to contribute in His cause, for His Deen, Allah shall reward them more than that.

So today as a humble servant of His and with complete submission to Him I convey the same message to you. Never in the history of Islam has crisis of this magnitude appeared. I, therefore, ask all Muslims through this world: Who will be my helpers in the cause of Allah?

O, beloved servants of Allah of this age, in the name of Allah, I summon you for help. Present all that you have to Allah, and I swear by the Almighty that He will direct the employment of the entire resources of His creations to your service. No power on earth can alter this divine decree. This event is destined and there can be no consequence save success since this is what has been decreed.

Allah shows mercy to those oppressed and helpless servants who volunteer all that they have to help His cause; and in response Allah helps. How clearly this phenomenon has been explained. Do we not, to test the reaction of our children make demands on them? Similarly, demands are made on human beings in the name of Allah.

Allah has clarified that He comes to the help of such people and grants them victory over their opponents despite the great resources of their opponents. In the history of Islam, and Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam, such a critical stage has been reached.

The question to resolve is, in what manner should all the possessions and resources of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam be presented and, if need be, sacrificed in the cause of Allah, and how to use this aid? This is not an easy decision to take as it involves some most important and basic questions. Day and night, I am engaged in seeking divine guidance and I am engaged in giving very deep thought to these complicated problems.

At this preliminary stage I seek your help in the shape of heartfelt, earnest and repeated prayers so that God Almighty may guide me and show me an avenue to bring about the victory of Islam by awakening the conscience of the Muslims and mankind. Nothing can be done if people do not understand the seriousness of the matter. It is exceedingly important that your sentiments, motives, conduct and acts must be in complete conformity with His wishes. It is destined that with His help you will be victorious over all forces. This decree is unalterable. The movement and the pace of this globe and heavenly bodies may change and the entire creation may be pulverised, but Allah’s decree cannot change. Allah’s decree is not subject to alteration. This is what we value and most believe in. We shall live and believe in it and we shall die believing in it.

I would not hesitate, nor am I afraid, to offer any sacrifices on my part and on behalf of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam, as Allah has raised us for this delicate but very important work. Through His mercy, he has bestowed upon us courage, resolution and steadfastness. When the occasion demands I will not shirk from any sacrifice however great it is. But Allah has bestowed upon me a measure of wisdom. Essentially in any struggle, careful exercise of this faculty is the first step. We need to ensure that not an ounce, not an iota of the resources of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam, and that of Islam as a whole will be wasted.

We need to remind ourselves that such sacrifices like in the times of Jesus (as) and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) are to be revived in this era, and it is our duty to revive it for this is the Will of Allah. Had Allah not guided me to this verse and explaining it to you, would you know what is expected of you? In eras of divine manifestations, it is Allah Who directs His elect through the Holy Spirit (Ruh’il Quddus) and bring about a change in the world through him. Now, it is up to the people to listen and abide by the advices of the Messenger/ Reformer from Allah so that they may taste the true fruit of Islam, and that fruit is pure divine love; such a love which Allah has reserved for those who sacrifice their all for His cause, so that His Deen may be established firmly on earth. This is the work we have to achieve and we cannot achieve it on our own. In this blessed work also we need Allah’s help, just like a weak child whose father engineers his movement so that he may accomplish something and afterwards, despite the father having done all the work, yet as a sign of love, give a gentle pat on the back of his child and congratulates him for the deed he (has) done.

Therefore, without Allah, without His help, we cannot do anything. We need the help of Allah to act as His help in His cause. Allah calls out to us for help, despite not needing any help, just to try us. Such tests as a revitalisation of our faith, especially in this era in the times of a Messenger of Allah, albeit, a non law-bearing one.

No man in the power of man can ever extinguish Islam. The Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam has been established by Allah to uphold the values of Islam, to guard the sanctity of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), and the Messiah of Allah, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as). After this humble self, each time Islam will be in danger, Allah will continue to send His elects in their appointed time to uphold the honour and dignity of Islam. Islam is the final religion or way of life just as it was the first and foremost way of life since the dawn of time.

So, I advise all Muslims, and my disciples in particular, do not fear to sacrifice your wealth and being in the way of Allah. Such times are blessed times. Wherever there is injustice, fill it with justice. Make your mark on this earth through your bond with Allah and our noble prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and this humble self. We must not also forget the sacrifices which Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) had made in his era; he and all those who were with him. Allah showed many signs for the glory and victory of Islam also through him. He also was a Messiah, the Promised Messiah of his time, the first Islamic Messiah, and I, the second. We both are the images of Jesus (as). As for Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh), he came after Jesus (as) to perfect the Deen of Allah by establishing the last and final code, i.e. the Holy Quran. [I have used the words ‘last’ and ‘final’ to put emphasis on the fact that the Holy Quran is absolutely the last code of law which Allah has revealed, and despite the fact that He (Allah) shall continue to speak and give His instructions to His servants and reformers of Islam, His Islamic Messengers, but no one among them can ever bring another law. It is only the Holy Quran which is the last law, just like the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) alone is the last law-bearing prophet]. But the Holy Quran being the final code does not mean that Allah has now stopped talking or that the Holy Spirit has ceased its mission to give divine revelations. No! I am a living example of this today, and like in the past, Allah is talking and needs your help to consolidate Islam through your sacrifices.

So, Who will be my helpers in the cause of Allah? We are very weak, but let us pray:

O Allah, couple our weaknesses with Your Might, enhance our love for You so that this love may find a way to You, illuminating our way to bliss in this life and the Hereafter. We are powerless, helpless and You are All-Powerful, Almighty. Help us, O Allah to fulfill our promises to You and to help Islam through the advent of Your Khalifatullah of this era by providing the help he needs for the victory of Islam. By helping him, O Allah, we are helping You, we are accomplishing our duty to You. Bless us with success in this endeavour and rid us of all enemies who seek to humiliate and finish Islam and the Muslims.

Ameen, Summa Ameen, Ya Rabbul Aalameen.
