'Shade of God, For the Truly Humble'

“This (Quran) is enlightenment for mankind and guidance and mercy for a people who have Faith with certainty. What! Do those who commit evils think that We shall hold them equal with those who believe and do righteous deeds - that equal will be their life and their death? Ill is the judgment that they make. And Allah created the heavens and earth with truth and so that every soul may be rewarded for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.” (45: 21-23)

By the grace of Allah, Allah (swt) gives me once again the opportunity to continue the explanation on the subject of the three Friday sermons that I had made in the month of Dhul-Qaddah (that is to say, on 28 August as well as on 04 & 11 September 2015).

It is a subject which is so vast and important and I hope that by the grace of Allah, every Muslim around the world and all my dear disciples who are in the different countries of the world understand what I’m trying to make them understand, in their own interest, for their own good vis-à-vis their Creator and I recommend you to try to make an analysis of what I said in those Friday sermons, and today it’s the fourth sermon which I am doing on the same subject. It is for your own benefit if everyone gets to reform himself; for he will then have no fear on the day when he will have to appear before his Creator. So if everyone understands what I say, then everyone will have to clear all their discussions/disputes, their passions and hatred and grudges they have towards their brothers of the same religion, and the disputes and wars that exists between them.

The majority of people who are engaged in wars (between themselves) and who do nothing to calm their anger and passions are people who cannot become the friends of Allah. So I make an appeal to you all without distinction that it is high time now to give up, to abandon all peccadilloes (vain differences and arguments), all unimportant things because it is now time to engage in the great and extraordinary work (of religion). So I never tire of telling you every time that you need to adopt this path, because without it we cannot come under the shadow of Allah, in the refuge of Allah in peace.

But the goal is not just to come under the refuge of Allah in peace. A real man is one who does not hesitate to come in the battlefield (precisely, for the cause of God) at a time when there is apparently no support for him, but nevertheless he makes the leap and comes forward. And then he presents all that he possesses, all that has to be presented, and he does not care what happens behind him (as he looks before him, not behind) for his passion, his love and desire to serve religion is so strong in his heart, that he comes forward voluntarily and presents himself and all that he possesses in the service of religion.

If you create this kind of desire in your hearts, it is you therefore who shall become those people who will be in the shade, under the refuge of Allah in peace. But until now, you have not yet developed such a passion; such passion which is like a flicker that can at any moment create a great flame (of devotion). Therefore, if you have not yet reached that ideal (at this crucial point), then all these words shall be words that you will understand of course, but you will not know how to benefit from them. So it is high time that each of you deeply reflects and analyzes his own being in such a way that no aspect of his own being remain in darkness.

Bear in mind that all the people who are under the influence of their anger, those whom their anger and passion dominate them, then it is impossible that the words of wisdom and knowledge come out of their mouths.

There are many people who write to me and there are those who send emails also to tell me to pray for them, but as soon as I get ready to pray for them, duahs (supplications for them) do not come out (of my mouth) in their favour, and so I understand immediately that these are people who have not adopted the path that Allah wants them to take. Therefore, their direction is different from the direction that we have adopted. If you let yourself be dominated by your desires and passions and anger, then it will not be possible for you to have the words of knowledge and wisdom come out of your mouth and the people who have entered into the refuge of Allah fail to plead in your favour, because it is the same God Who keeps His servants from praying for such people. At that moment, the goal of having the upper hands on the great scholars (of the world) becomes impossible (to accomplish).

So if your anger, your passion wins over you, then it will not be possible for you to accomplish this desire to become the friends of Allah. So, to become the comrades of Allah, you should never say, “It’s because of the knowledge I possess that I got to become a great personality.” If you flatter yourselves, if you flatter the knowledge you have, if you boast of your good memory, or the high position you hold in your workplace, and if you show yourselves arrogant or selfish to the general public, then this shall certainly be a grievous thing. Never take yourselves as more superior to others.

Instead, you should show yourselves as the most humble person found on earth, a very humble one indeed. And before anyone comes to greet you (with the greeting of peace in Islam), take the first step and greet first, do not boycott others and do not keep any grudge against them. Become humble people, because it is the humble people who realize that everything they have – such as knowledge, wisdom etc – come from Allah alone. And always make this prayer with humility and sincerity: “O Allah! Enable us to become (truly and completely) Yours.”  When you shall become for Allah, therefore shall begin from that moment on the subject of the supplication which Prophet Musa (as) had made:

Oh Lord! I am truly in great need of
whatever good you would bestow on me!
(Ameen). (28: 25)

Place your trust in Allah; it is certainly Allah who will decide what capacity that needs to be developed in you and up to what limit too. Leave this work to Allah (count on Him). And certainly those plants which/whom Allah protects; the reason for this special protection is that precisely without Him, these plants can never reach to their maximum capacity. It is the hand of God that saves them from the unbelievers, from external/strange/foreign things and Allah creates such an environment so that these plants can reach to their maximum capacity.

Good words and words of wisdom and knowledge cannot therefore come out from the mouths of people who go against God and His commandments, and who refuse to become good plants. On the contrary, every word which these types of people pronounce is a source of disorder. Actually when you look at the homes of those people who let themselves be overcome by anger, you will see that there is disorder in their environment and in their society/community also there shall be disorder, and this disorder can also be seen in their relationship towards others. They spread disorder everywhere.

So if you want to talk with the help of the Holy Spirit, for verily true knowledge is that which is obtained from the Holy Spirit, then, you must remove all the personal desires, passions and anger that are found in you. It is only then that the words of knowledge shall come out of your mouth and at that moment the heavens shall consider you as a beneficial being/person for the world.

I intensely pray that in the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam there not be found no one who ridicules and speaks evil against his brother or makes sick jokes about him. It is a very bad thing to abase one’s brother and break his heart (hurt him), and expose his flaws (or to blame him) in public. All this is very serious in the eyes of Allah and the divine punishment for it will be terrible. So put into practice kindness, say good words for your brethrens, and certainly also a sense of humour is also permissible. Someone who knows that if he opens his mouth he may say stupidities, then, it is better for him to stay quiet. Keep silent, for then you can avoid many blunders, disorders, disputes, wars etc.

So the sense of humour is a very high quality. I pray that every member of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam cultivates a sense of humour that will bring in its wake the ability for you to come under the shadow, in the refuge of Allah in peace and enable you to become among the comrades of Allah and serve the religion Allah with pure and sincere hearts, Insha-Allah, Ameen. I thus conclude my Friday sermon on this subject.
