The Divine Mission @ 20

All Praise Belongs to the Almighty Alone. That is the defining thought for us as  the Divine Manifestation in Mauritius in the person of our beloved Imam Hadhrat Muhyi-ud-Din Al Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim (atba) marks the completion of the first two-decades of its spiritual mission this week. Even as the world marked the end of the second millennium after Jesus (as), and commenced a new century in the trajectory of time in the year 2000-01, spiritually-illumined dreams, sublime mystical visions and Divine revelations were bestowed upon this most humble man who already made it his life’s vocation to devote all his time and energy in sharing the Word of God to the people near and far.  As the Divine Manifestation enters its twenty-first year; this week also marks for the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam International, the 12th anniversary of its distinct identity as a spiritual commune, Alhamdulillah, Soumma Alhamdulillah.

The Divine Manifestation of Mauritius is in perfect accordance with the finest traditions of Islamic spirituality. Indeed, it is a living, thriving example of the vitality of Islam as a religion and way of life. The deeply-rooted belief in the Islamic world- and the experience of the distinct Muslim communities around the world- regarding the appearance of Divinely-imbued souls among the believers finds one of its clearest manifestations in the spiritual circle of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam today.

An Inspired, Divine Mission

Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Saheb (atba) is a born-soldier of Islam, having had with him from a relatively very young age of his blessed life, an abiding interest in religious matters and an intuitive understanding of effective preaching and an exceptional drive to spread further and further the true message of Islam for all of humanity. Years before the Divine call, as a devout Daai-e-Ilallah, Hadhrat Munir was the ambassador of the Promised Massih (as) to several communities and peoples of the Indian Ocean Island-states, including Reunion Island (1990), Mayotte (1997) and Seychelles (2000), helping to establish the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya in these distant lands. During those years, through his fervent prayers and the Divine Grace over his ardent preaching efforts,  hundreds of people in these nations got the opportunity to recognize the sublime path of true Islam. Indeed, in the annals of Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya, the extraordinary services rendered by this humble servant of Islam to the mission of the Promised Massih (as) had been recorded by the then (Fourth) caliph Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad Sahib himself. Even more importantly, Allah (twa) showed His deep appreciation and profound satisfaction for the sincere and earnest efforts, when Allah (swt) took him under His wing of Mercy at the age of 40 when he became a frequent recipient of divine revelations and spiritually-infused messages from the Unseen.

By the Grace of Allah (swt), for the last two decades now, Hadhrat Munir (atba) has been blessed with an abundance of Divine communications and spiritual messages, to a level and scale unheard of in the records of the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya since the times of the Promised Massih (as) in the previous century.  Like the Promised Messiah Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) of Qadian (1835-1908 CE) in the previous era, Hazrat Munir (atba)  claims Divine revelations and messages as the authority behind his spiritual titles and religious claims in this era. Allah (swt)  bestowed upon him several spiritual titles in this era- Hazrat, Amir-ul-Mu’mineen, Muhyi-ud-Din Khalifatullah; Mujaddid, Messiah, etc. He is charged with a Divinely-inspired mission of reclaiming and revitalizing the enduring message of Tawheed in this new century of the Islamic Era.

Hadhrat Munir (atba) tirelessly works on a range of levels and scales, to call mankind back to the path of purity, the highway to the Unicity of Allah. As a Warner unto mankind, he has written several letters to religious leaders, political heads and community chiefs, inviting them to the path of peace and rectitude and good manners.  Hadhrat Khalifatullah (atba) is on a daily basis presiding over the spiritual training of his disciples and followers. In the light of Divine Wisdom being vouchsafed to him on a constant basis, his Friday sermons frequently contain profound Islamic guidance on pressing spiritual, ethical and social concerns of our common humanity. Based on Divine revelations, Hadhrat Munir (atba)  is frequently reminding mankind about the gathering storm of Divine Wrath and humbling punishment on all wrongdoers.

More than 1400  years ago, addressing the Makkan people of his times, Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) emphatically declared his Divinely-inspired spiritual Mission: "I want neither pelf nor power. I have been commissioned by Allah as a Warner unto mankind, and deliver His message to you. Should you accept it, you shall have felicity in this life as well as in the life to come. Should you reject the word of Allah, surely Allah will decide between you and me."

Through out history, the Holy Prophet's ringing words have been the signature tune of Islamic Messiahs and other Divine Elects; people who spoke with the help of Holy Spirit (Rooh-il-Quddus) and were known by different spiritual titles. By the Grace and Blessings of Allah (swt),  Hadhrat Munir (atba), like all Divine savants before him in history, speaks with the help of Rooh-il-Quddus, and strives through his inspired, personal example and steadfast preaching efforts, to renew the days of the Holy Prophet (sa) among the true devotees and lovers of God Almighty in this era. Like all savants of God throughout history, Hadhrat Saheb (atba) preaches pure Divine messages coming from the Unseen; inviting people to consider the extraordinary possibility of acceding to the Divine countenance in this era as well by following his noble example.

Speaking about the great mission on his shoulders, Hadhrat Saheb (atba) once gave expression to his firm resolve to strive steadfastly in the path of Allah (swt) in the following words:

“Even if the whole world reject me (except a few who are sincere with Allah), nevertheless my claim as the Servant of Allah, His Muhyi-ud-Din, Khalifatullah and Messenger of Allah stands true. One day, in the beginning of the Divine Manifestation on this humble one, Allah told me in my native tongue (Creole):

“If tomorrow the world (everybody) leaves you, but Allah is with you, then everything is with you. If the world (everybody) is with you but if Allah is not with you, nothing is with you”.

It is my humble prayer that Allah continues to be with me in every situation, be it in every persecution, trial and even moments of joy for Allah will be definitely with the one whom He has raised and will protect him against all His enemies and shall make Islam prosper through His Messenger, even if the world denies such a Servant of God”

Ahmadis on Trial

The prophecies contained in the sacred traditions of the Holy Prophet (sa) clarify and amplify spiritual expectations concerning the advent of the spring of Divine Manifestation in the blessed lives of true devotees and lovers of God in every era of Islam, especially in difficult days for the Ummat-e-Muhammadiyya. Indeed, the appearance of a Divine Elect in every era of Islam constitutes the foundational basis of the teachings and claims of the Promised Messiah Hadhrat Ahmad (as) in the previous era.  All those who claim the memory and legacy of the Promised Messiah (as) in this era- the Ahmadis of today need to understand that Hazrat Khalifatullah Munir Azim (atba) scrupulously follows and revives the teachings and prophecies left behind by both the Promised Messiah (as) and his righteous successor, Hazrat Musleh Maoud Mirza Bashir-ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad (ra) (1889-1965 CE) in their writings. On several of his writings the Promised Messiah (as) confirmed that there could be other Elects of God who would come to renew the days of the Holy Prophet (sa) among the believers till the Day of Judgement:

‘I do not deny this, that also some other "Maseel Massih" may also come in addition to me’. (Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, Majmooa Ishteharat, vol. 1, p. 207)

‘I cannot deny and I will not deny that perhaps there may be some other Massih Maoud’. (Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, Majmooa Ishteharat, vol. 1, p. 208 )

Likewise, Hadhrat Musleh Maoud (ra) while claiming his spiritual title made the following, vital declaration:

'I do not say that I am the only Promised One and that no other promised one will appear till the Day of Judgment. It appears from the prophecies of the Promised Messiah that some other promised ones will also come and some of them will appear after centuries. Indeed, God has told me that at one time He will send me a second time to the world and I will come for the reform of the world at a time when association with God will have become widespread'.

As an Ahmadi Muslim who is Divinely-raised with a mandate for the renewal of the spiritual path among the Ahmadis of today, the larger mission of Hadhrat Saheb (atba) is to propagate the true and living Islam among all of humanity. 20 years on,  Hadhrat Saheb's Divine Mission continues to strive with patience and constancy in the path of Allah (swt)- with more and more people recognizing the precious opportunity it represents for them to grow spiritually and to learn wisdom, Alhamdulillah, Soumma Alhamdulillah.
