'Siraj Makin': Agenda for Women

Coinciding with the recent India-visit of Imam- Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam International Hadhrat Muhyi-ud-Din Al Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim Saheb (atba) of Mauritius and the respected and honoured members of the holy family, the Siraj Makin- the women’s wing of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam- in Tamil Nadu, held its special Ijtima at Tenkasi on Saturday, 24 November 2018. Fatima Jasmine Sahiba, Sadr, Siraj Makin-Tamil Nadu presided over the programme, with the proceedings commencing with Tilawat-ul-Qur’an (along with its Tamil translation) by Sherin Banu Sahiba. Two Nazms, written by Hadhrat Khalifatullah (atba) and the Promised Messiah (as), were recited at the function by the Sadr Sahiba and Mujtaba Iynul Misbah respectively.

In her Ijtima Opening Speech, the International Sadr of the Siraj Makin Hadhrat Ummul Mu’mineen Fazli Amena Varsally Sahiba spoke on the role of, and tasks before, the believing women in the faith commune, in the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam. Encouraging women believers who integrated in recent times with the Divine Manifestation of this era to recognize and deploy their God-gifted talents and skills to perfect their multiple social roles, the respected International Sadr Sahiba wishes that each one of them/us becomes role models and torch-bearers of the Light of Islam in our every-day life settings. Drawing on sacred spiritual history, Hadhrat Saheba points out that we need to study and gain many insights from the exemplary lives of the great women saints of the past- people who bore all trials and tribulations that came their way with much patience and steadfastness in their exceptional quest for God’s approval and pleasure in all that they did.

By performing their varied social tasks with diligence and constancy, prudence and wisdom, women in their varied phases of life- as a daughter, spouse, mother, grand parent; whether working at home or outside the home- can be fine role models of piety and devotion in the Divine Way. The women believers of the Divine Manifestation have a vital role to play in the larger causes of Islam, and they could and should be in the forefront of the spiritual education of their children and also join in implementing the diverse projects and initiatives of the Jamaat at every level, exhorts Hadhrat Saheba in this comprehensive discourse on 'the role of Siraj Makin ladies in the Divine Manifestation of our times'.

My dear daughters,
Assalamu ‘alaykum Wa rahmatullah Wa barakatuhu.

It gives me great joy to address you today during this visit to India, and meeting you all for the first time in Tamil Nadu.

You need to understand that each one of you has a special place in the Divine Manifestation of this age. Each one of you is special with special talents bestowed upon you by Allah to help advance the cause of Allah in this great land, India, and the world as a whole. You should understand that being ladies of Islam, of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam in this present age, you need to work hard to enable Islam to reach far and wide and to derive the pleasure of Allah through it all.

Remember, be you little girls, young girls, married women and elders, you all are important and each one of you should participate in making the success of Islam. Dedicating yourselves for the cause of Allah involves not only taking care of your inner spirituality, getting yourselves more and more closer to Allah through Salat (prayer), Holy Quran reading, Zikr-i-Ilaahi (remembrance of Allah) and duahs, but it also involves translating the Holy Quran and its commentaries into your local language, and translating the Hadiths, and the sermons of the Khalifatullah Hazrat Munir Ahmad Azim (atba). It also involves being devoted into bringing up your children according to the principles of Islam, to inculcate in them the values of Islam, to make them good citizens of the country and of Islam. But through it all, you should not neglect the very important tasks of Islam which awaits you to enable the progress of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam throughout India and the world.

Remember, you should respect the society in which you live and strive to give the best examples to the people through your high morals by carving yourselves in the image of our noble prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) and the great ladies in the history of mankind who were great examples of piety for the world such as Hazrat Khadija (ra) and the other wives of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as well as Hazrat Mariam, the mother of Hazrat Isa (as), Asiya, the wife of the Pharaoh and surrogate mother of Hazrat Moussa (as), and Fatima, the daughter of Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) among others.

Indeed, each era of divine manifestations there appeared great ladies who were examples of piety and role models for others to follow. In the times of the Promised Messiah Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) we had Hazrat Amma Jaan, Hazrat Nusrat Jahan Begum (ra) who was a model of piety for the followers of the Promised Messiah (as) and the world.

Your role today as ladies of the Divine Manifestation of this age involves dedicating your time to help further the cause of Islam in the world. Be it through your financial sacrifices, your contributions in form of translations, and tabligh/ dawa and the upbringing of your children and taking care of your household so that they may be considered as an ideal home and family in Islam, you need to bear in mind that all these and many others such as a kind act, for example, an act of charity, a smile to those undergoing harsh times, a good advice to children and spouses, and treating well your neighbours, and helping altogether in programmes, be it for cooking, cleaning and other chores… all these constitute great acts of goodness in the eyes of Allah, and which will help you to rise up in status in the eyes of Allah.

And please ladies, do not forget that Salat is also very important because it is through Salat that you shall maintain and strengthen your bond with Allah.

You need to remember that being Siraj Makin; Siraj Makin meaning, Influent and Strong Torch, you need to light up your inner selves, your homes and environment with the light of truth and be firm in your faith everlastingly.

Alhamdulillah, you have recognised the Divine Manifestation of this era through the advent of a Khalifatullah and you have taken the step forward to take the Bai’at (oath of allegiance) and integrate the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam. Now it is for you to remain ever firm in your faith, because bear in mind, that when you have declared your faith and taken the Bai’at, Allah shall try you in many ways, in all kinds of ways to see whether you are sincere in your faith or not. So dear ones, you need not fear losing anything in the path of Allah. You should remind yourselves that if Allah is with you, then everything is with you.

Remember, the Khalifatullah (atba) of the age is only a Messenger of Allah, who has come to give you the message of Allah and to show you the path to Allah, to bring you closer to Allah. It is now up to you to walk upon this path leading you to Allah. This path is very difficult, with lots of trials and pains, but at the end of your journey upon this righteous path, you shall get ALLAH. Indeed, ALLAH is the real goal of true Muslims, and it is for each one of you to make ALLAH become your focus in life, and to strive to comply with all the commandments of Allah vouchsafed to us in the Holy Quran, and to follow the Sunnah and all tenets of Islam.

May Allah enable each one of us to shine as true believers and dedicated women of Islam who strive to be role models for others to follow. Insha-Allah. May our works and sacrifices for the cause of Allah be remembered for all times to come, be it in this world and the hereafter. Insha-Allah, Ameen.
