Kerala Jamaat: Sacrifice and Obedience

Spiritual history is replete with deep and profound ironies. Whenever Allah the Most High raises a Messenger of His, leaders of the society will reject him. The elite of the community will vehemently oppose him. Only a very few, relatively materially-poor and humble in spirit, will accept the Divine Messenger. This small band of believers will go on to undertake extraordinary sacrifices in pursuit of their deeply held convictions. They will display nobility of character against all odds and in the face of adversities, eventually to emerge as the shining stars in the darkest of skies.

Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam of Kerala today straddles this path of sublime spirituality. In spite of their small numbers, modest economic conditions and adverse social circumstances, members of the Jamaat in Kerala compete among themselves in the spirit of financial sacrifice and to show perfect obedience to the words and wishes of the Messenger of Allah. In his Friday Sermon of 30 March 2012 and also on April 06, 2012 Khalifatullah Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib of Mauritius (atba) took note of the spirit of sacrifice and obedience being displayed by the Kerala Jamaat.

Extracts from the Sermons:

Before ending my sermon, I wish to address all my brothers, sisters and children in Kerala. First of all, Assalamoualaikum Warahmatullah Wabarakaatuhu (May the peace, grace and blessings of Allah be upon you). It is my humble prayer that Allah keeps you in good physical and spiritual health always, give you long life and increase your wealth, Insha-Allah.

The Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam of Kerala has made extraordinary efforts in the field of financial sacrifice, only for the pleasure of Allah in the 72 hours which has just went by. From among the existing Jamaats in several countries, the Jamaat of Kerala has excellently done “Fastabikul Khairaat” (vying each other in good deeds). By their deeds, they are reviving Alhamdulillah the great sacrifices of the Sahaba Karaam in the times of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Despite their meagre financial positions, the Sahaba Karaam used to go and work in the market only to receive some money to put in the hands of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) to spend in the path of Allah. They have done this with joy in their hearts despite not having any food at home or adequate clothing. For them, Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) came first. Their sacrifices were such that Allah the Almighty blessed them and this blessing made them reached the peak of glory today, spiritually speaking.

With the advent of this humble self, the humble servant of Allah in this era, whereby Allah has raised me with a Jamaat, Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam, that beautiful spirit of sacrifice shown by the Sahaba Karaam has been awaken today in Kerala despite their difficult financial situations. Nevertheless they did not hesitate to say “Labbaik” to the Khalifatullah of this era.

The other Jamaats from the other countries must take the Jamaat of Kerala as a model, for that which they (the Jamaat of Kerala) planted today they shall reap it more than that, be it in this world, and the next. Generations and generations shall benefit from such blessings. They shall eat the fruits of these sacrifices.

O my brothers, sisters and children I give you this good news that Allah is with you, wherever you are, the shadow of Allah shall be upon you, and He shall protect you against all kinds of cyclones. Whatever difficulty you may face, Allah shall remove them, Insha-Allah. Ameen.

I reassure you that my prayers are with you, and that whatever problems you may have, big or small, Allah shall remove them, Insha-Allah. You have shown quality obedience to Allah and the Khalifatullah of this era. Indeed the Jamaat of Kerala has done remarkable excellent works for the cause of Islam, in all fields and Insha-Allah you shall be ever ready to do all the more sacrifices, hundreds, in all ways, whereby your love, respect and obedience for the caliph of Allah shines forth like the brightest of lights. Insha-Allah, Allah shall embellish you with His light, Ameen.

I wish to thank, congratulate and pray for Dr. E. Tahir Sahib & Family, Mohammad Siraj Sahib, Rafeena Siraj Sahiba, Abdul Kabeer Sahib & Family, Y.K. Haris Sahib, Razia Haris Sahiba, Abu Baker Sahib& Family, Abdul Hakeem Sahib, Salim Sahib & Family, Mohammad Basheer Sahib, D.A. Zainul Abdeen Sahib, Fayezah Maryam Zain, Zakariah Bin Zain, Fauzia Jamal Sahiba, Sofiyah Sahiba, Shareefa Beevi Sahiba, Zaki Mubarak Aziz Raother, Haseena Masood Fazil Sahiba, Fazil Jamal Sahib and the Amir Jamaat Jamaluddin Sahib (in his own name as well as in the name of his beloved late parents Rasav Meeran Raother Sahib and Fathima Beevi Sahiba, as well as in the name of his beloved late son Fouse Sahib and his grandchild Yahya Fouse Jamal).

My special thoughts and prayers also are for Abdullah Zubair Sahib, Pattabi Raman Sahib and all persons involved in this financial sacrifice. May Allah be your ultimate reward for all of you. Ameen.  May Allah give you the Tawfiq till your last breath to remain loyal to Allah and His Khalifa (Khalifatullah). Insha-Allah, your rewards in the hereafter shall be enormous. Ameen.

In his Friday Sermon of April 06, 2012 Hadhrat Sahib (atba) specifically appreciated the initiative of the Kerala Jamaal to deliberate upon and study in depth the subject of Dawa:

“Before ending my sermon, I wish to inform you all that our brothers and sisters in Kerala are organising a special programme on Dawa today. All members shall be reunited, Insha-Allah. This special function comes in the nick of time because Dawa as I explained in my previous Friday Sermons have to be done well and therefore the initiative of the Kerala Jamaat is great. May Allah bless them further and make their programme fruitful, and may Allah guide all the more righteous souls, and even the thirsty of divine love and other people to be rightly guided through their humble efforts. How true is the verse of the Holy Quran concerning such believers who despite being “a small army” but they are ever so courageous in the Jihad to bring other souls towards the unicity of Allah. Allah and His Messenger are very happy with them. They are recipients of many divine signs and manifestations. May Allah increase further their knowledge of Deen, and may Islam profit from them. Such people are the light-bearers for the future of Islam, Insha-Allah.

On this happy occasion, the advices I need to give them is: “Persevere O my disciples, persevere, O my followers. You are far away from my sight yet close to my heart. Let the world know how true Islam is in its glorious state, for Islam shall profit only if there is unity, collaboration, brotherhood, love, comprehension, and obedience to Allah and His Messenger. The Holy Quran is an open book for the thirst of your hearts. Let the Holy Quran lead the way to Allah for the truthful, the submitters to Allah.

When you remain true and sincere, Allah shall cause mountain of difficulties to be as light as a bird’s feathers. The true believer is the one who encourages unity and who does not prevent His fellow brothers and sisters from the path of Allah. On the contrary, they become facilitators so that others can profit from the advices and teachings from the Holy Quran which they have come to impart, as a blessing of being the disciples of a Messenger of Allah. These are the true Dai-Illallah who sacrifice for the sake of the comfort of others, be it a brother, a guest or even a stranger. Hearts turn to them for they feel a light in them, such a light which will bring them to the comfort of Islam, the real and true religion. Allah and His messenger come first for them. They are the holders of the keys to the divine door due to that exceptional obedience.

O my brothers, sisters and children become like such believers who do not let Satan deprive them of their faith, who make Allah and His messenger become their priority and that Islam flourishes through their humble sacrifices. They live as one brotherhood. A believer may be new in belief but when he believes he completes his soul with divine love and obedience. His life is changed for the better. He prefers the next world instead of this temporal world. His heart becomes the eye with which he sees Allah, perceiving Him through his own behaviour and deeds and also in others. Whenever something wrong happens, he tries to correct it so that the right way may be distinguished from the wrong path.

The Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam of Kerala is progressively on the go to possess such distinctive qualities of believers. May Allah bless them, who are doing exceptional efforts to vie with the other Jamaat in other countries in good deeds. May Allah bless their endeavours. May Allah reward them, be it in this world and the next. Insha-Allah, Ameen.
