‘Al Mubashirat’: An Explanation

In the sacred traditions of the Holy Prophet (sa) chronicled in Sahih Al Bukhari, one can read:

1.   Allah's Messenger (sa) said: 'Nothing is left of Nubuwwah except Al-Mubashirat.' They asked, "What are Al-Mubashirat?" He replied, 'The true good dreams (that conveys glad tidings).'

2.  Allah's Messenger (sa) said: "A good dream (that comes true) of a righteous man is one of forty-six parts of Nubuwwah."

In a recent Question and Answer Session, Imam- Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam Hazrat Muhyiuddin Al Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius profoundly explained the true concept of ‘Al Mubashirat’ and its linkages with the enduring blessings of Islamic Nubuwwah for human kind for all times till the Day of Judgement.

Regrettably, many people have failed to understand the true meaning and import of the afore-mentioned vital sayings of the Holy Prophet (sa) concerning the continuance of Nubuwwah through Al Mubashirat. As a consequence, doctrinal errors and serious contradictions exist within the belief systems of the common Muslims today. Indeed, a large section the Ummah today opposes the many favours and blessings of Spiritual Illumination due to these fatal mistakes in appreciating the role of Divine communion and the resultant flow of Divine communications through some individuals who are bestowed with Al Mubashirat [Glad Tidings].

Over the centuries, following in the footsteps of the Holy Prophet (sa) in the devotional practice of Islam, true servants of the Faith have lit up the Spiritual Way for people of their times. These saintly exemplars were blessed with Divine communion, and the Muslim Ummah is witness to the flow of Divine communications that reached them through history and memory. Indeed, true dreams, spiritual visions and other Divinely-inspired messages were vouchsafed to these purified souls raised up in every era by Allah (swt) Himself, pointing to the perfection of Islam as the Spiritual Path to God. The perfect and complete Faith of Islam as taught by the Last and Final Law-bearing Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (sa) gets rejuvenated in every era. The spirit of Islam and the Prophetic legacy continues through the Glad Tidings [Al Mubashirat] bestowed on holy men and women of Faith in every era. Building on the sacred legacy of the Nubuwwah of Hazrat Muhammad (sa), the Divinely-elected servants of Faith- such as the Mujaddidin and the Khulafatullah- share the favours and blessings of the comprehensive Islamic Way through pure preaching and personal example in every era, Alhamdulillah, Summa Alhamdulillah.
