‘Ilm-e-Ghayb’ and the Divine Signs

Signs of our Times

‘Innas-Saa-’ata la-’aatiyatul laa rayba fiihaa wa laakinna ‘aksaran-naasi laa yu’-minuun. – “Indeed, the Hour is coming - no doubt about it - but most of the people do not believe.” (Al-Mu'min, 40: 60).

Nowadays, we are seeing that time is passing so quickly and that all sort of problems are cropping up. We are suffering a change in nature and also a change in the human attitude and behaviour.

Consequently, we (as humans) are worried about our future. When we analyse the situation, we see how the world is being degraded and going to its lost: there are hypocrisy, power thirst, wars, strife, persecution against the weak, infidelity, bestiality, as well as atrocities, complicity and concealed tolerance for the crimes against humanity etc.

On the other hand, in alarming and uncontrolled proportions, there are all sorts of calamities of nature: heat wave, drought, fire, flood, famine, strange maladies (viruses etc.), earthquakes, cyclones and other catastrophes. This tendency brings us to think if there are not other cataclysms in the near future? When nature is inflicting upon us such sanctions, this also means that it is giving us a message, but unfortunately we are not understanding the message it is giving and thus as the situation is now and being presented to the world, spirituality has no place in such a world of decadence.

Divine Servants and the Ilm-e-Ghayb

In the Holy Quran, Allah the Exalted has said that the universe shall not exist forever and that from time to time, there shall be such occurrences and signs which shall announce the approach of the end of the universe. It is therefore necessary for us to be alert of those signs so that we can meditate on them and consequently consolidate our faith. Through the series of sermons (Friday Sermons) which I shall do on this subject, you shall come to realise that all messengers of Allah, and also this humble servant of Allah who is present before you all today have a profound knowledge of the unseen (Ilm-e-Ghayb) through Allah, and you can see that already many of the predictions/prophecies made have been realised, Alhamdulillah, Summa Alhamdulillah, and a believer must have faith that the other announced signs also shall come what may be realised by the infinite grace of Allah.

A Dream about the Alliance Politics in Mauritius

By the way, I relate to you a small anecdote which concerns our small island, Mauritius which happened some months back.

You all know here (in Mauritius) that the Mauritian Militant Movement (MMM) made a political alliance with the Mauritian Socialist Movement (MSM) in the year 2011 if I am not mistaken, and they got together to make a remake of the political alliance they did back in the year 2000. They got together so as to denounce the current government (PTr & PMSD) on the subjects on all current scandals, frauds, corruption, theft, rape and so on, whereby they (PTr & PMSD) lost their credibility. The overall population (of Mauritius) is completely sick of them and with the coming general elections coming in the year 2015, at that time (months back) the remake MMM/MSM promised to do a cleaning up and would have gained victory. There have been many meetings they held to denounce the current government.

Months back, all was well in the “remake 2000” but Allah back then showed me in a dream on 07 January 2014 that a MMM/PTr flag was floating. When I related the dream to my family in the morning and also to my disciples here in Mauritius, there are some who told me, no, impossible that the leader of the MMM to do an alliance with the PTr of Navin Ramgoolam, and therefore I remained quiet (on the subject).

Afterwards, what did we witness?

In the beginning, the two leaders MMM/MSM were celebrating their birthdays together, photos published in the newspapers. Each of them is feeding cake to his comrade and praising one another. The next day, 15 April 2014, problems within MMM/MSM are exposed. Wednesday 16 April 2014, the militants (members of the MMM – the population) revolts against their leader of the MMM, labelling him all sorts of ugly names to manifest their anger when the latter annulled the 1^st of May Meeting despite that since long, posters and banderols have been posted everywhere around the country to mobilize the population to come for the 1^st of May Meeting. And then, out of the blue, the leader of the MMM announces his separation from the MSM. All Mauritians were shocked by this and many of them addressed this subject on the private radios to demonstrate their anger and non-compliance with the way the leader of the MMM acted.

And then on Thursday 17 April 2014, the Leader of the Opposition and the MMM goes to meet with the Prime Minister Dr. Navin Ramgoolam, on the apparent subject of Electoral Reform. 

Days back, each of them were at the throat of each other and around 80% of the population of Mauritius wanted the defeat of the current bullying and scandalous government in the next election. It was the Leader of the Opposition himself (while also the leader of the MMM) who used to denounced all these frauds and scandals etc.

On Thursday 17 April 2014 itself, before the camera and all press people, the Leader of the Opposition and MMM shook hands with the Prime Minister, discussing with loads of smile for some three hours. The majority of Mauritians were angry at the Leader of the Opposition and the MMM, and last year 2013, in the intervals of those months January-December, the majority of people were praising him and praying for him and now this year, it is only insults. If those insults could strike a person dead, then he would have died with those insults. And the media published that an alliance has already been signed between the PTr and the MMM.

What I wanted to show you is that Allah the Exalted shows to His Chosen Servant; he (through Allah) has profound knowledge of the unseen (Ilm-e-Ghayb). Allah has shown His servant what shall happen in the future, at such a time when it was inconceivable to the people that such an event shall happen when all was going well and normal (between the parties forming the 2000 remake). Therefore, the things which Allah the Exalted shows to His Chosen Servant, and when he announces this (to the people), therefore, this must be accomplished, even if one does not witness it on the spot, but the accomplishment of those prophecies can take its time to be manifested. This is the promise made by Allah to His Chosen Servant.

Prophecies and the Believers

Very often believers are put on trial by Allah the Exalted by this means, whereby they do not see anything (of what was divinely promised) happening and they lose courage and even lose faith completely. And when they go away, they say: “Allah and His prophet have promised us only deception”, like Allah the Exalted mentions in the Holy Quran.

There are also those who accepted the truth coming from Allah, and upon not seeing and gaining any reward from Allah, and also instead of all good things they are going through more and more difficulties and seeing that their lives are becoming difficult to live, family and friends are boycotting and persecuting them, they begin to despair, especially when they see that others who have not accepted the truth are better off than them, their lives seem happier with rice-cookers, washing machines in the homes, two or three cars in their yards. Therefore, these believers who are on the brink of losing faith say: “These people are better-off (than us)!” This discourages them and they feel suffocated in the truth; they leave (the Divine Manifestation, the right path) and do not keep silent. They create havoc, seeking to capsize the ark of Allah. Those who do this think that when they seek to capsize the ark of Allah, they shall remain safe and sound. On the contrary, it is them who shall go to their lost, and besides, they try to restrict others from listening to the divine truth brought by the Chosen Servants of Allah.

Dar-ul-Amal & Dar-ul-Jaza

Therefore, it is very important that there be belief in life after death, which is not a temporary life span but a permanent one where all people shall reap the fruits of their deeds. Temporal judges here on earth judge according to their limited knowledge. Now ponder over how important it is that Allah the Exalted, the Supreme Judge and Knower of the Invisible and Visible to give true judgement according to the actions of each person!

Duniya (temporal life) is a Dar-ul-Amal, that is, a place where people perform Amal (deeds, actions) and Aakhirat is a place where one obtains Jaza (good or bad rewards), that is, Dar-ul-Jaza, except for those who have faith and do good deeds, they shall have an unlimited amount of good rewards. To well understand this, the greatest judge says in the Holy Quran: 

“Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds, for they will have a reward uninterrupted. 

So what yet causes you to deny the Recompense?


 Is not Allah the most just of judges?” 
   (95: 7-9)

In the other verses, Allah says:

“That Day, the people will depart separated (into categories) to be shown (the result of) their deeds. So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.” (99: 7-9)

“Or do those who commit evils think We will make them like those who have believed and done righteous deeds – (make them) equal in their life and their death? Evil is that which they judge.” (45: 22)

“Or should we treat those who believe and do righteous deeds like corrupters in the land? Or should We treat those who fear Allah like the wicked?” (38: 29) 

Therefore, on that day, there shall be no injustice and all people shall have an equitable judgement. That day is Judgement Day (Qiyamat). That is why another name for Qiyamat like mentioned in the Holy Quran is Yaum-ud-Din (Judgement Day).
