Khalifatullah’s India Visit 2023

Alhamdulillah, Summa Alhamdulillah, Imam- Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam International Hazrat Muhyi-ud-Din Al Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius, and the International Sadr of the Siraj Makin Djawaharatul Kamal- the women’s wing of the Jamaat- Hazrat Ummul Mu’mineen Fazli Amena Varsally completed a historic visit to India between 16 January and 10 February 2023. The Holy visit took place under the will and shade of Allah's Grace in the dawn of a New Year, literally marking a new page in the Book of Time and the evolving spiritual lives of the Jamaat members in India, Masha Allah, Allah-u-Akbar!

In spite of the manifold and diverse Deeni works that keep them busy all through the year, Hazrat Khalifatullah (aba) and Hazrat Ummul Mu’mineen International Sadr Saheba chose to find time and be with the disciples and followers in India for a period of almost a month. The presence of these blessed servants of God in India- a journey that took place despite several hurdles, marked a spiritually- uplifting, and morally- ennobling experience for all those who were in the circle of the Divine Manifestation during those days of the Holy visit, Subhaan Allah.

Disciples and followers of the Khalifatullah (aba) will certainly cherish for a long time the spiritual warmth and filial affection showered by him upon all of them all through the visit, in Tamil Nadu, in Kerala and elsewhere. Like the sunshine and the rain, the servants of God embraced all those who came in search of Divine Grace and succour in their midst. Many devout souls recognized the privilege of joining the High representative of God – the Khalifatullah- in his long invocations and sublime prayers, and the opportunity to directly listen to discourses on finer points of spiritual wisdom, and to hear about Allah’s help and assistance amidst all trials and tests of faith in the everyday lives of those who believe and entrust their affairs to the wisdom and grace of the All Knowing, the All Aware,- relying entirely on the will and pleasure of God, Alhamdulillah. Indeed, the Holy visit gave members of the Jamaat a unique and special opportunity to join and experience the signs of Divine presence and manifestations in their own surroundings in everyday life, Subhaan Allah, Masha Allah, Allah-u-Akbar!

A Special Sign of Saintliness

Many members of the Jamaat experienced special Divine signs and manifestations all through the time of Hazrat Khalifatullah (aba) in India, Alhamdulillah. While detailed reports from disciples and followers in Tamil Nadu and Kerala are expected shortly, Insha Allah; this writer wishes to humbly share here a unique mystical experience that one personally and directly witnessed while travelling in the north of India along with the chosen Elect of Allah of our times.

After completing the visit to meet with the members of the Jamaat and followers in the south of India- Chennai, Tirichirappally, Sirajum Munir Masjid at VK Puram, and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu; Mathra Noor’ul Islam Masjid, Alappuzha, and Wayanad in Kerala- Hazrat Khalifatullah (aba) and Team reached Delhi as part of the north India visit, ahead of going to Chandigarh, and also to Shimla in Himachal Pradesh.

Alhamdulillah, Summa Alhamdulillah; by the sheer grace of Allah, this blogger had the pure fortune to join Hazrat Khalifatullah (aba) and Team during their sojourn in north India.  One of the places visited on this occasion was the Maqbarah of Imam Rabbani - Hazrat Mujaddid Alif Saani Sheikhuna Ahmad Farooqui Sirhindi (ra) in Punjab. As a humble follower of the Khalifatullah (aba), I was curious and excited about the fact that a living Mujaddid in flesh and blood is going to visit the Maqam of a Mujaddid who passed away almost four centuries ago, and what that encounter might mean for my faith and beliefs in Islamic teachings.

For readers who may wish to be familiar, Hazrat Imam Rabbani (ra) [1564-1624] was the Mujaddid of the Islamic world during the turn of the second millennium of the Hijri Calendar, a time when there were eschatological expectations of the advent of a Grand Reformer in the world of Islam. Despite the hyperbole and related exaggerations of the contemporary Ahmadis concerning their own mundane [man-elected ‘Khilafat’ arrangement as the re-establishment of Islamic Khilafat after 14 centuries (!); the fact remains that the Muslim Ummah was always served by Mujaddidin: Divinely-inspired, special individuals who renewed the days of the Holy Prophet (sa) through holding onto original and pure Islamic teachings in their own respective times. Mujaddid Alif Sani (ra) belonged to the holy lineage of Islamic Ulema as a Farooqui, and being a recipient of holy visions and Divine communion and communications, he renewed the pure doctrines of Islam in his own time- a fact that is established by the continuing work of different Sufi orders in India, broader South Asia and elsewhere around the world, Alhamdulillah.

A Prayer and a Mystical Encounter

While visiting the Maqbarah of Imam Rabbani (ra), Hazrat Muhyiuddin Al Khalifatullah (aba) was accompanied by Hazrat Ummul Mu’mineen Fazli Amena Varsally, Muhammad Rafi Saheb (a young disciple and graduate student of Journalism) and this humble one (Abu Zaahidah). While at the Maqbarah, Hazrat Saheb (aba) raised his hands in prayer for the forgiveness, grace and welfare of the departed souls lying buried in the Maqbarah and its surroundings. A moment or two later, there was a special Divine Sign with Hazrat Saheb entering into a visionary state: a special meeting between the living and the dead, and the ensuing conversation between them, two holy souls in communication by the sheer will and command of Allah (swt)! Indeed, it was a very unique sign of Faith to have had the occasion, a rare privilege to have witnessed in one’s entire life!!

According to the Holy Qur’an, Allah (swt) assigns a ‘grave’ to all dead souls, and there is a ‘barrier’ that separates them from the living until the Day of Resurrection and Judgement. Then in due course He causes him to die and assigns a grave to him.’ (80:22).And behind them (the deceased ones) is a barrier until the day when they shall be raised again.’ (23:10) Only under the special will and command of Allah (swt) can anyone meet with the departed souls, albeit in a visionary, mystical encounters such as recorded in the traditions of the Holy Prophet (sa) and the great saints of Islam. Like the Promised Messiah (as) recorded:

‘By God I have seen with mine own corporal eyes the sublime beauty and excellence of the Holy Prophet while sitting in my house. In my early youth I saw his blessed face. Again, while fully awake, I was honoured again with a meeting of the Holy Prophet.’ (Aina Kamalat-e-Islam)

Again, he writes of his meeting with Jesus:

‘I have met the Prophet Jesus (peace be on him), many times in visions, and he had meals with me at the same table.’ (Nur'ul Haq, part 1)

Mystical experiences of the aforesaid nature are recorded in the books of other great saints of Islam as well. Be that as it may, as a living servant of God with a clear mission to revive the true spirit of Islamic teachings and to renew the Days of the Holy Prophet (sa) among the people in our own times, Hazrat Khalifatullah’s meeting with a long-departed Mujaddid at his Maqbarah, and the conversations of a visionary nature that they have had in that transcendental state is yet another testimonial to the deeper roots and foundational truthfulness of this Divine Manifestation in Islamic spiritual tradition,  and to the profound station of our Imam (aba) as a ‘luminous moon’ [‘Qamaran Munira’] projecting the Light of Muhammad  [‘Noor-e-Muhammadi’]  in this era, with Hazrat Saheb (aba) joining a league of extraordinary men- a blissful chain of grand saintly stars in the spiritual heavens of Islam, Alhamdulillah, Summa Alhamdulillah.

As they return to their homeland after a visit that provided so much spiritual joy and happiness to so many souls and blazing a trail of good memories among them to cherish for a life time, we invoke God's grace and blessings upon them: may Allah (swt) grant Hazrat Saheb (aba) and Hazrat Ummul Mu’mineen, - and also the members of pious household who could not join them in this blessed visit-, good health and long life to steady the course of the Noah’s Ark of this era, and may all our pious wishes for the progress and welfare of the Jamaat find fulfillment in the best of ways in the times to come, Insha Allah, Aameen.
