The mission of an Elect of God
Hence, commissioned with a functional mandate of calling people to
the Divine way, a ‘Mujaddid or ‘Khalifatullah’ who appears among the people will invariably call them to what is right and beneficial, while pointing to
that which is wrong and harmful. It is by obeying revelations brought by the
Divine Elects that man can gain felicity in this world, and salvation in the
world to come. The duty of everyone living in the times of such a God’s Elect among them is to abide by the ethical standards and divine instructions brought by the emissary of the Almighty. Indeed, true wisdom lies in submitting to divine messages brought by the prophets and messengers, and other chosen servants of God.
Prophet, a ‘madman’ ?
Instead of displaying humility and gratitude to God
Almighty for the great favour of special guidance being send through His Elects,
the ingrate disbelievers show arrogance and hostility, rejecting the Divine revelations
brought by the messengers of God. Moreover, they ridicule and laugh at divine
missions calling a prophet by all sorts of names: ‘liar’, ‘sorcerer’, ‘possessed’,
‘madman’, etc. Consider the Qur’anic verses that calls out this psychological delusions
of the disbelievers, as well as the Divine counter-testimonial:
‘They say, ‘O Person (who thinks that) to whom this
reminder has been revealed! You are definitely a mad man.’ (15:7)
‘‘When these disbelievers hear this reminder (from
you), they almost strike you down with their looks. They say, ‘He surely is a
madman’. Yet it is only a reminder to all people of the
world.’’ [68:52-53]
‘By the grace of your Lord [Prophet], you are neither
oracle nor madman’. (52:30)
Against this remarkable background, readers may
reflect upon a recent episode whereby an arrogant parliamentarian made snide remarks against the Divine Manifestation; the disbeliever accused the man of God of being a “madman” for sharing Divine messages he received in public interest. After reading the cautionary warning message of Hazrat Imam Muhyiuddin Al Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim (aba), the [Mauritian] parliamentarian asked Hazrat Saheb (aba):
‘All your warnings and your so-called advice, if what you are telling is truth, when will this promise be realized? Only the fool can listen to you or believe you. You are a madman in this country.’
Hazrat Khalifatullah’s response:
‘Thank you very much for your foolish message/ question.
Misleaders and misled will all be responsible for
their deeds. True values are not to be judged by the seeming good of this life.
Good will come to its own in the end, however derided and scorned (it finds itself) in the period
of Trial.
Revelation and the Mission of the men of God will stand every test. God's Truth will endure while Falsehood will perish, and its votaries find the door of Repentance closed in the end.
When that Day actually
arrives, your period of probation will have passed. It will be too late.
One disbelief is as bad as another. There is little to
choose between them. But when the final account will be taken, there will be
mutual recriminations between the one and the other.
Right and Wrong, Good and Evil, are incompatible- one with another. In this matter we can make no compromise. Wrong is the negation of right as light is of darkness. So we may perceive the light of God in varying degrees according to our spiritual practice and turn to only one God and put our trust in Him.
If
you put your trust in (the true one) God and we put our trust in God, we belong to one Brotherhood,
and we shall see the perfect Truth finally when the time comes.
Wisdom and power only belong to God. If you put your
trust in other things, they will fail you, because they do not exist as objects
of worship. All else that you set your hearts upon will and must fail you,
because they cannot in any way be brought into rivalry with God.
My message to all mankind is that if they turn to God, it is a message of the glad tidings of His mercy (that they will receive), and if they do not turn to Him, it is a warning against sin (they commit) and the inevitable punishment.’
