Munir A. Azim: Expulsion and After

Ahmadi Muslims believe that the door to prophethood is always open till the Day of Judgement. This is based on what the Promised Massih Hadhrat Ahmad (as) clearly stated:

“I have never claimed that being Massih will terminate on me and no Massih will come in the future. On the contrary I admit and say repeatedly that not only one but more than 10,000 Maseeh can come”. (Azalah Auham, RK, vol. 3, p. 251).

“I do not deny this, that also some other "Maseel Massih" may also come in addition to me”. (Majmooa Ishteharat, vol. 1, p. 207)

“I cannot deny and I will not deny that perhaps there may be some other Massih Maoud”. (Majmooa Ishteharat, vol. 1, p. 208 )

In several other writings as well, the Promised Massih (as) clearly spelled out his understading of the continuity of Divine Revelations and the advent of noble souls with spiritually -infused messages even in future. Such persons will confirm the everacity and truthfulness of the larger message of Islam as explained by the Promised Massih (as) in our times. As per his prophecies, the Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya was established to continue the good work of propagation of Islam. Yet, the theory of Khilafat as is being propagated by sincere followers of the Jamaat system has now come in conflict with a Divine prerogative. Most Ahmadis, however, today believe that only an elected Khalifa of the Jamaat has the "credentials" to such lofty Divine favour as Mujaddidiyat and because of this perception, they reject the Divine favour on offer from Allah (swa), without even extending the courtesy of spiritual humility, careful deliberation and deep contemplation that is the hall mark of true Muslims, when someone stands up, confirming the teachings they have with them. Hence, for the "grave crime" of claiming to be a recipient of revelations from Allah the Most High, Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius was expelled from the Nizam-e-Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya on 01 January, 2001.

When the Nizam-e- Jamaat abandoned him, Allah took care of him and elevated him with a position of nearness to Him. In January 2003, Allah gave him the titles of “Hazrat” and Amir’ul Mu’mineen”, and blessed him with a Jamaat whose name was revealed to him, Jamaat-e Ahmadiyya Al Muslimeen. On December 06, 2003, announcing the mission of being the Muhyiuddin of the Era, Hazrat Sahib famously declared:

“I want neither pelf nor power. I have been commissioned by Allah as a warner unto mankind, to deliver His Message to you. Should you accept it, you shall have felicity in this life as well as in the life to come. Should you reject the word of Allah, surely Allah will decide between you and me. As from today, I take Allah as my witness that I am the Muhyi-ud-Din of this era.”

Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib: First Revelations

Reflecting on his virtuous past and the present Divine mission, Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius stated recently:

“For now, what I can tell you and the world, is that my academic education is very limited, and that since a child I had in me a profound love to serve the religion of Allah, and that is why my time was spent mostly in the mosque (since 7 years old), and following the missionaries and Tabligh volunteers (in my early teens) to go and preach Islam in all parts of Mauritius. It is the same love to spread the message of Islam and Ahmadiyyat (the good news of the advent of the Promised Messiah (as)) which made me serve the Ahmadiyya Jamaat.

Every human needs to feed himself and his family. As I needed a job, what was better for me than to work for my own Jamaat? Despite difficult times which I was bound to go through, but this experience today has proved to be fruitful for this humble self because Allah made me witnessed how the officials and other people from the Jamaat of the Promised Messiah (as) have fallen prey to the luring of Satan.

My love for Allah, I keep it in my heart and soul, but that love surged forth to such an extent that Allah admitted me in His mercy and chose me as His humble Messenger. Even though I am a weak human, but Allah so desired to elevate me to my present spiritual status. What I can assure the world is that a sinner I am, but had not it been for the grace of Allah on me, I would have been ruined. I am a human, but Allah made me His Messenger”.

Khalifatul Massih as ‘Alimul Ghayb’

Any one who objectively, impartially, unemotionally and dispassionately examines the mindset of the contemporary Ahmadi Muslims will be struck by the long shadow of blind faith engulfing the landscape of Jamaat-e- Ahmadiyya. Several dimensions of this are unmistakably apparent in the every day lives of the believers. First, in their quest for absolute obedience to their Khalifa, they are willing to suspend reason and rationality and stoop to the extent of committing Shirk. Secondly, they venerate their Khalifa so much that they fail to recognize the pitfalls involved. Thirdly, even as they enter into schemes brought in by their Khulafa, they do not realize what they are doing!

In a recent speech, Hadhrat Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib of Mauritius illustrated these points with glaring examples of this unfortunate scenario within the mainstream Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya, who cliams the sole and exclusive legacy of the Promised Massih (as):

1.      Concerning absolute obedience to their Khalifa:

Once the 4th Khalifa Mirza Thahir Ahmad Sahib said not to use any aluminium recipients to cook food, and therefore all Ahmadi Muslims in Mauritius threw away their own aluminium recipients so as to buy new costly “AMC” recipients so as to cook food. There were even some who contracted debts (taking credit and paying interest) so as to buy these new recipients. After some years, all of these Ahmadi Muslims reverted back to their use of aluminium recipients!

This is the mentality of the Ahmadi Muslims in Mauritius whereby they take the words of their Khalifa as more important than the Qur’anic verses and the words of the Holy Prophet (sa). If this is not a Shirk, then what is this?

An Admonition to Rashid Jahangiri

Mr. Rashid Jahangiri of the Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement made the following comments on 28 June 2011 at their official Blog:

I am famous (at least in Mauritius — BTW anyone can point me on the map where is this promised land?)

Munir Azim in my posts I said that Mujaddid of 15th century can not come among Qadianis and especially among Qadiani Murrabis who all their lives have been bending over their backs to kiss the “blessed” hands of Qadiani Khalifa 2 and his successor Khalifas and looking for opportunities to eat and drink their leftovers; and holding beliefs that Qadiani Khalifa 2 Mirza Mahmud Ahmad was Musleh Mahud, despite when dozens of people (including his children, close relatives, staunch followers, friends and newspapers editors) accused him of acts of extreme forms of immorality; which he never dared to challenge and exonerate himself from these charges in a public inquiry by inquiry commission members appointed by himself.

Munir ji, you’re NOT my particular addressee. I meant ALL Qadiani Murrabis including the current 4 claimants of Mujaddiyat (including Zafarulla, Jamba, and Nasir). By the way do you know how many dozens of Qadiani Murrabis before you have claimed their “divine” appointment to office of Mujaddid? Someone years ago someone published a list of such Qadiani claimants. It would be nice if someone can update that list and add at least the current 4 claimants to that list.

I loved it: “Therefore, it is people like Dr. Rashid Jahangiri who are hell-bent in deviating people from the true teachings of Islam (from the right path), distorting it to suit their needs….”

Munir ji, you have already started acting like the “majestic” Qadiani Khulifa.

Dude, where is the beef?

Dude, if you want to convince me that you’re Mujaddid then at least produce some literature and show some service to Islam. I am not asking you to show more scholarly works and extreme service to Islam like Maulana Muhammad Ali, and Khawaja Kamal ud Din and other elders of Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement. If I ask that, then it will be too much work for you. Just show me some scholarly works more than my father in-law Professor Chaudhry Ghulam Rasool and service to Islam more than my late father Qazi Abdul Rashid Esq!

Munir ji, please prove your credentials before expecting me to answer your diatribe.”

In a speech on June 30, 2011 Hadhrat Khalifatullah responded to the comments. Extracts from the Speech:

'Opinions of the Khalifa are not Gospels'

One question that troubles many common Ahmadis when they hear about the appearance of an Elect of Allah is this: How can there be a new Massih when the Ahmadiyya Khulafa have written and taught us differently?  In a recent speech, Hadhrat Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib has addressed the matter from a Qur’anic perspective:

Now, one must bear in mind that opinions of someone cannot be considered as the TRUTH unless his words are revealed words from Allah. This is especially true in our case, just like it was in the times of the Promised Messiah (as). The Promised Messiah (as) confirmed the words of the Qur’an and the Hadiths of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) when he did not close the doors of revelation, prophethood and Mujaddidiyat.

It must be borne in mind that while some of the Khulafa of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat have given their personal opinions on the questions of the coming of Mujaddids, that there shall never be again a Mujaddid who shall come after the Promised Messiah (as). But, has not the Promised Messiah (as) refuted all their claims himself by saying, that had he not come, Allah would have sent another one as Messiah for the fulfilment of this divine mission? Moreover, had he not say that even after him, it is quite possible that there appear 10,000 Messiahs?

The Legacy of Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya

Every Ahmadi believes that the Promised Massih (as) came with a Divine Mission to restore the teachings of Sahih Al Islam. And the Ahmadiyya Khilafat was instituted with the objective of taking the message of the Promised Massih (as) to the whole world. After the first Khilafat, what began as a tussle over the doctrinal interpretations culminated into differences over the form of leadership- Anjuman versus Khilafat. Inevitably, there was a split in the Community, leading to the separation of ways of the disciples of the Promised Massih (as) and the formation of two groups.

The Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement (LAM) under the Imaarat of Maulvi Muhammad Ali Sahib (ra) identified itself more closely with the mainstream Islamic world, hoping to dilute and bridge the doctrinal claims of the Promised Massih (as) so to find accommodation and acceptance within the prevailing Muslim orthodoxy and its standards of legitimacy. Thus, they emphasised the Mujaddid claims of the Promised Massih (as) and explained away the concept of his being an “Ummati Nabi” and declared that no prophet whatsoever can ever come after the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa).

Water versus Tayyamum

“When we have water, why look for Tayyamum?”

An Ahmadi Maulvi raised this question when a member of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam, Kerala recently met him with the message of Allah in this age. He was obviously alluding to the current Ahmadiyya Khilafat as “water” and the coming of the Elect of Allah as “Tayyamum”. The larger question is this, what kind of “water” are you using now?

In a recent speech, Hadhrat Khalifatullah explicitly observed:

Do you realize that the “water” you are taking to do your “Wuzu” has become as filthy as the water from the toilets? Will you then prefer to do Tayyamum, which is made with pure soil or sand and which has been commanded by Allah (and mentioned in the Holy Quran), or would you prefer to do “Wuzu” with water which has become filthy, or sewage water or even water (though clear) but which is found in toilet pits?

Today, the Khalifa is ready to expel good people while all fraudulent and dirty people are found in the Jamaat. The Khalifa has become just like the Christian priest who assures the adepts of his church that after confessing to their sins, then he also will throw a little “blessed water” on them and Lo! their sins would be forgiven! The Ahmadis have become blind to all the corruptions and frauds which have entered into the Ahmadiyya Jamaat. That is why some still think that “When they have water, why is there the need for Tayyamum?”
