‘Tarbiyyat’ Lessons- 6

  

A God-centric approach can enable and empower us to deal with shifting fortunes in personal and social life. As humans, our hearts experience a range of emotions in the varied settings of life. Hence, we encounter both moments of ecstasy and agony; of fortune and misfortune; of happiness and sadness; of hope and despair. Islam prescribes temperamental moderation and a well-balanced approach to issues that affect the individual at the deepest level; teachings that are essential for personal mental health and emotional stability, and for collective well-being of the community at large. It envisages that in times of ease and comfort, we should remain grateful to God for all the blessings of life, and remain within the bounds of Shari’ah, and not commit excesses while taking our fill of pleasure. Likewise, we should turn to our Creator and invoke His sublime attributes in our low moments: times when we experience misfortune and sorrow; feel a huge void at the loss of a dear one, or feel sad and depressed after a sincere relationship falls apart. Indeed, at such emotionally-vulnerable points, to find the inner strength to cope with the vagaries in our fortunes; we could and should rely entirely on God’s mercy and hope for His grace through spiritual invocations and Duahs.

'Eid-ul-Adha' 2024: Spiritual Retreat

 

Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam International organized spiritual retreat programmes at the Noor’ul Islam Masjid at Mathra, and also at the Siraj-um-Munir Masjid in Tamil Nadu on the devotional, celebratory occasion of Eid-ul- Adha, 16-18 June 2024, Alhamdulillah, Summa Alhamdulillah.

 

Members of the Jamaat assembled at the Masjids well ahead of the Eid-ul-Adha Day, in order to maximize Divine blessings attached to the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah, with devotional practices such as Duah, Dhikr, Salah, Roza, Saduqah, Tilawat, etc. They also received the boon of a special message from beloved Imam Hazrat Muhyiuddin Al Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius, who addressed the gathering through the official YouTube channel of the Jamaat:

Imam-Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam International, Hazrat Muhyiuddin Al Khalifatullah Al Mahdi Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius recently shared a series of profound advices for the spiritual education and benefit of his disciples and followers found in the Jamaat around the world. The message is for the purification of the soul and body of every individual believing brother and sister who are eager to pay attention and work upon this pure guidance for their own individual and collective benefit, Insha Allah, Aameen.   

Allah Says in the Qur’an:

 

Do not be rude in speech (3:160).

Restrain anger (3:135)

Be good to others (4:37)

Do not be arrogant (7:14)

Forgive others for their mistakes (7:200).

Speak to people mildly (20:45).

Lower your voice (31:20).

June 2024: Allah's Message

 

Islam teaches us to recognize our true Lord, and strongly urges us to worship only the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe: Exclusively, turn to God Almighty. To the exclusion of all other visible and ‘manufactured’ deities/ ‘idols’ that many take as lords besides the Lord, we should hold the Most Gracious in awe, though He is Invisible and Unseen. Allah (swt) created humans, and ‘He is closer to man than his jugular vein’: He knows what our souls whisper to us; He knows what our thoughts and intentions are, according to the evocative words of the Holy Qur’an.

Everyone who turns often to God and keep Him in mind, and who comes before Him with a heart turned to Him in devotion; such devoted servants shall find that the Ever-Living, All Knowing and All Hearing, Allah (swt) responds to their sublime invocations and fervent prayers, Insha-Allah, Aameen. Like Allah (swt) tells the Holy Prophet (sa) in the Holy Qur’an: ‘And when My servants ask you concerning Me (tell them), I am nearby indeed, I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he prays to Me, so they should respond to My call, and believe in Me (that I possess all these attributes) so that they may proceed in the right way’. [2:187]

Those who learn the history of Islam will be astonished by facts that speak for themselves- the great role women believers [Sahabiyat] performed around the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) and the early Muslim community in Makkah and Madinah. Look at certain facts: the first person to embrace Islam was a woman – Hazrat Khadijah (ra); the first person to die for Islam was a woman- Hazrat Sumayya (ra). The greatest scholar of lslam was a woman – Hazrat Aisha (ra). The person who loved the Holy Prophet (sa) the most was a woman– Hazrat Fatimah al Zahra (ra). The person who made the biggest sacrifice for lslam in one day was a woman – Hazrat Khansaa (ra). One of the greatest fighters in Islamic history was a woman – Hazrat Khawla Bint Alazwar (ra); Alhamdulillah, Summa Alhamdulillah.

The 'Sheikh' on Life Lessons

  

In times of chaos and confusion in some place in the Universe when ethics and morals decline and irreligion advances, Allah (swt) sends someone with the Rooh’il Quddus- to repair and restore the path of Truth corrupted by the hands of men. With the help of divine revelations, the chosen servant of God re-establishes Tawheed back on earth: through setting standards of just conduct and practical wisdom, and by becoming a moral exemplar for the people of the times. As per Sunnat Allah, and the great Promise contained in the sacred books of the Muslims, God Almighty raises a noble soul with the light of guidance; a high representative and true successor to the spiritual throne of the Holy Prophet (sa) is sent in every era; a ‘Khalifatullah’ who preaches pure scripture and practical wisdom appears in every century of Islam. Indeed, this is the true concept of 'Divine Khilafat' in the Holy Qur'an [24:56]. 

 

Alhamdulillah, Summa Alhamdulillah, the holy founder of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam International, Hazrat Imam Muhyiuddin Al Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius, is the Divinely-raised Mujaddid of the 15^th century of Islam, and this great spiritual mentor of our times speaks with the help of Rooh’il Quddus. While speaking to his disciples and followers, the Sheikh-ul-Islam (aba) famously stated once: ‘I give not lectures but mixtures for your mental health and moral invigoration. So take my words as medicines necessary for your health...’ 

The Message of 19 May 2024

 

In a message to disciples and followers in the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam in India, on the occasion of a special Tarbiyyat meeting organized by the Delhi Jamaat in association with the Tamil Nadu and Kerala Jamaats on Sunday, 19 May 2024;  Hazrat Imam Muhyiuddin Al Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius reflects profoundly on his spiritual mission of the last two decades and more, emphasizing the need for all believers to rise up to their individual duties and collective responsibilities, and to meet the inevitable and unavoidable trials of Faith and related challenges in everyday life- with Taqwah, refined appreciation of Islamic teachings on what is right and wrong, absolute trust and reliance on Allah (swt) while striving hard to implement and establish Tawheed in their own settings so as to attract Divine mercy and pleasure, both in this world and in the world to come, Insha Allah, Aameen.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim

My dear disciples,

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullah Wabarakaatuhu.

 

After 16 blessed years of His Divine Caliphate, Allah has given each of you the opportunity to accede to His nearness through your hard works in His cause.

The times of a Messenger of Allah is a unique one, and you are most fortunate that you are witnessing such times. These times are not just a time of divine blessings but also of great trials. As we are all witnessing, the world has been seized by a deep convulsion, where disasters of all kinds, divinely-sent ones as well as man-made ones are destroying the world cubit by cubit. The lives of the Muslim believers are endangered.

 

I advise my sincere disciples to always remain on the right path, to be ever courageous in times of difficulties, to be strong to fight all injustices on earth through valid arguments from the Holy Quran and Sunnah of our beloved prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh).

Delhi: A 'Tarbiyyat' Meeting

Alhamdulillah, Summa Alhamdulillah, a special Tarbiyyat meeting was organized by the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam- Delhi in association with the Tamil Nadu and Kerala Jamaats on Sunday, 19 May 2024. 

The Amir of the Tamil Nadu Jamaat, Hazrat Mukarram KM Saleem Saheb and his respected wife Fatima Jasmine Saheba and their blessed children Iynul Misbha and Ata-us-Salam were the chief guests on the occasion. Delhi Jamaat members such as Abu-Zaahidah Saheb, Dr. Haseena Masood Saheba, and Zaki Mubarak Aziz Raother received them at the programme. By the grace of Allah (swt), several members of the Jamaat from different parts of the country could also participate in the blessed spiritual meeting through the Jamaat online web-link system, Subhaan-Allah, Alhamdulillah, Allah-u-Akbar!     

Man of God, or a ‘Madman’?

 

Over the last two decades, the holy founder of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam International Hazrat Imam Muhyiuddin Al Khalifatullah Al Mahdi Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius has acknowledged the Divinely-inspired nature of his spiritual mission- to revive spiritually ‘dead’ hearts with inner virtues, and thereby renew the true spirit of Islam among the believers in this era. In support of his lofty mission in service of the Faith, Hazrat Azim (aba) cites the Holy Qur’an, the prophetic traditions, the experience of the great saints who preached pure teachings of Islam in the centuries gone by, and the fact that he himself is a direct recipient of divine revelations from the Almighty through Holy Spirit [Rooh’il Qudus].

Hence, like a Mughal Sultan with an imperial standard/ Royal Titles who presided over a large nation, the spiritual king of this era could also be easily recognized provided you have the spiritual lens to appreciate Divine Signs. By the grace of Allah (swt), to make it easy for people to recognize the mission of this humble servant of God, several special designation titles have been divinely-bestowed upon him in this era: ‘Hazrat’, Amir-ul-Mu’mineen, Muhyiuddin, Mujaddid, Khalifatullah, Muslih Maoud, Massih Maoud, and 'Dhulqarnain', i.e., 'the one who arrives at the cusp of two epochs'. Is it a mere coincidence that Hazrat Saheb (aba) began his spiritual mission around 2001? 

YK Hariz Saheb [1953-2024]

Yusuf Khan Hariz Saheb of Alappuzha [71 Years], senior member of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam- Kerala, passed away on Friday, 26 April 2024. Inna lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raaji’uun. 

 

Nai’b Amir of the Kerala Jamaat, Hariz Saheb belongs to the first group of believers in India who recognized the spiritual claims associated with the advent of Hazrat Imam Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius as the Mujaddid of the 15^th century of Islam, Alhamdulillah. 

In October 2010 when news reached the shores of India that, from among the ranks of African Ahmadi Muslims, Allah (swt) raised a servant of the Faith as a chosen messenger and reformer of spiritual morals in this era, and subsequently the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam was formally established in the Indian State of Kerala to share the great Divine message in this era among the people of the world; Haris Saheb and his respected wife Mahrooma Razia Beevi Saheba were among the pioneering group of believers who took Bai’at at the hands of Hazrat Muhyiuddin Al Khalifatullah, Summa Alhamdulillah.  

An Interview with Imam Mahdi

 

Today, 19 April 2024, marks the 21^st anniversary of the first Bai’at [the covenant of repentance with God] initiated and accepted by Hazrat Amir-ul-Mu’mineen Muhyiuddin Al Khalifatullah Al Mahdi Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius on 19 April 2003. On that day in 2003, soon after the demise of the fourth caliph of the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Mirza Tahir Ahmad Saheb [1928-2003] in London [UK], Hazrat Amir-ul-Mu’mineen (aba) received the Divine instruction to accede to the request of Muslim brothers and sisters in Mauritius to receive Bai’at in the Hand of Allah (represented by the hand of Hazrat Imam (aba)]; marking an important milestone in the sacred history and trajectory of Islamic renewal over the centuries. Accordingly, the first Bai’at was held that evening in the house of Hazrat Ummul Mu'mineen Fazli Amena Saheba on the second storey, at Louvet Avenue, Quatre-Bornes, Mauritius. From that momentous occasion, over the last two decades, the spiritual mission of Hazrat Khalifatullah Al Mahdi (aba) has been, and is, thriving by the grace and blessings of Allah (swt). And for true spiritual seekers- those who have eyes to observe, ears to listen and hearts to understand-, the support and help of God is clearly evident in the progressive trajectory of the Divine Manifestation of our era, Subhaan Allah, Alhamdulillah, Allah-u-Akbar!

It is absolutely certain that Hazrat Imam Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius has appeared as a servant of Faith in our midst with proof from Allah the Almighty. The divine revelations vouchsafed to Hazrat Saheb (aba) comprises matters of the unseen and prophecies with regard to the future, acceptance of prayer, revelation in various languages, and revelation of points of wisdom and divine truths- exactly like in the times of the promised messiah Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) of Qadian [1835-1908]. Since all this is divine testimony, it is the duty of everyone who possesses faith to accept his claim  as the servant of God in this era, the Divinely-raised ‘Muhyiuddin’/ ‘Mujaddid’/ ‘Khalifatullah’/’ Dhul Qarnain’/ ‘Imam Mahdi’- all being spiritual titles bestowed by the Lord Himself upon His servant of this era.    

Celebrating ‘Eid-ul-Fitr’ 2024

 

With the sighting of the crescent moon on the skies of the Kerala coast on the evening of 09 April 2024, Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam members in India celebrated ‘Eid-ul-Fitr’ with special prayers and feasting and festivities on Wednesday, 10 April 2024, Alhamdulillah, Summa Alhamdulillah.

Brothers and sisters and children of the Jamaat mainly congregated at the mosques of the community for Eid special prayers in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

With many members of the Jamaat observing I’tikaaf in the last ten days of the fasting month of Ramadan at the Sirajum Munir Masjid in Tamil Nadu, and also at the Noor’ul Islam Masjid at Mathra in Kerala; the mosques became the natural venues for the members celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr. Eid prayers were also conducted in other places in both the States, and also outside of these two States where members live, bringing alive the Qur’anic command to turn ‘places of living’ into virtual mosques for the pure devotion and worship of Allah (swt). 

‘Laila-tul-Qadr’: An Interview

 

“The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong).” (2:185)

'Truly, We revealed this on a Night full of blessings...’ (44:4)

We revealed it on the ‘Laila-tul-Qadr’ [the Night of Destiny, the Blessed Night & filled with virtues] (97:2)

'Tahajjud' and 'Tarawee'

  

In the aftermath of a humble request for explanations from his spiritual mentor and guide in this era, a humble disciple of the Khalifatullah Hazrat Munir A. Azim (aba) has axed his questions on the importance of Tahajjud and Tarawee in Islam. His questions are as follows:

 

1. What is the difference between Tahajjud and Tarawee?

2. Do we pray Tahajjud (After Isha, before Fajr) at different times during Ramadan and non-Ramadan (nights)?

3. The Prophet (pbuh) did not perform the Tahajjud prayer or the Tarawee prayer together. Why do we do it?

 

Hazrat Khalifatullah's considered response to these set of questions shine  a clear light of guidance on a vital aspect of Islamic spiritual practice in the fasting month of Ramadan: the devotional practice of offering voluntary prayers known as the Tarawee Prayers after the Esha prayers- both in its original, historical context, but also in relation to the Tahajjud Prayers, explaining the practices against the wider backdrop of the Holy Prophet's own approach and those of the pious second caliph Hazrat Umar (ra), and what these additional prayers mean  in the spiritual journey of the believers in their quest for Divine nearness, pleasure and approval.

‘Whoever obeys the Messenger obeys God.’ (4:81)

 

‘Prophet, when believing women come and pledge to you that they will not ascribe any partner to God, nor steal, nor commit adultery, nor kill their children, nor lie about who has fathered their children, nor disobey you in any righteous thing, then you should accept their pledge of allegiance and pray to God to forgive them: God is most forgiving and merciful.’ (60:13)

 

‘Those who pledge loyalty to you [Prophet] are actually pledging loyalty to God Himself– God’s hand is placed on theirs––and anyone who breaks his pledge does so to his own detriment: God will give a great reward to the one who fulfils his pledge to Him.’ (48:11)

States of the Human Soul: A Reply

 

Recently, a Muslim lady named Shameenaz (from Mauritius) sent an important question for spiritual guidance to Imam- Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam International Hazrat Muhyiuddin Al Khalifatullah Al Mahdi Munir Ahmad Azim (aba). Explaining the circumstances that led her to approaching Hazrat Khalifatullah (aba) with this question, the lady observed that other religious leaders of the various Muslim Jamaats to whom she had sent the question did not provide a spiritually-convincing response to this vital issue. She writes: ‘Imam Sahib, I want to know the three stages of development of the human soul [according to the Holy Quran].’

Revelations of 18 January 2024

   

Based on Divine revelations received on Thursday, 18 January 2024 after Namaz Maghreb at around 7.25 pm,  Imam- Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam International Hazrat Muhyiuddin Al Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius states:

‘Allah said to me:

 

O Messiah of this Era,

Beware of losing Me,

For if you lose Me, you will have lost everything, and

If you do not lose Me, you will have lost nothing.’

23 Years of the Divine Manifestation

 

On Sunday, the 7^th of January 2024, Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam International convened a special programme to mark the completion of the first 23 years of the present Divine Manifestation in the person of Hazrat Muhyiuddin Al Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius. The blessed programme, organized and hosted by the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam- Tamil Nadu and its dynamic Amir Mukarram Khwajah Muhyiuddin Saleem Saheb, included Tilawat-e-Qur’an, Nazms, speeches by senior Jamaat officials as well as the narration of spiritually-infused visions and dreams and revelations by members of the pious Household, and a final address by Hazrat Saheb (aba), Subhaan Allah, Alhamdulillah, Allah-u-Akbar!

 

For common Jamaat members like this humble writer, it was a day of gratefulness and thanksgiving to Allah (swt). As Muslims who follow the timeless teachings of the Holy Qur’an, and the deep insights of the Holy Prophet’s sacred practice as the correct and straight path- the religion of Allah; we recognize that the raising of an Elect of God among the people is an enduring Divine practice, a Sunnat Allah, in every era. Allah (swt) granted us a practical role model and exemplar of the spiritual Way, especially in an era and at a time when most people grope in the darkness of ignorance, misbeliefs and superstitions, doubts, and despair. Hence, the raising of a Mujaddid in our troubled times is an example of pure Divine grace and mercy in our perspective. And He granted us an extraordinary blessing by enabling us to recognize His chosen manifestation in our midst, Alhamdulillah, Summa Alhamdulillah. 

Kerala Jalsa 2023: A Report

Alhamdulillah, with the approval and blessed permission of Imam- Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam International Hazrat Muhyiuddin Khalifatullah Munir A. Azim (aba) of Mauritius, the Fourteenth Jalsa Salana (Annual Convention) of the Kerala Jamaat took place at the historic Noor’ul Islam Masjid- Mathra, on  26- 29 December 2023, Summa Alhamdulillah. 

In addition to the members in Mathra; brothers and families from Pappankulam, Karunagappally and Alappuzha, Wayanad, and Delhi and Coimbatore, also could reach the Masjid venue ahead of the commencement of the four-day Programme.
