‘Allah Teaches Me Wisdom’

‘Those who believed and kept to righteousness, for them are the glad tidings in the present life and also in the Hereafter.’ (10: 63-64)

‘As for those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah’, and then remain steadfast, the angels descend on them saying: ‘Fear you not, nor grieve; and rejoice in the Garden that you were promised. We are your friends in this life and in the Hereafter. Therein you will have all what your souls will desire, and therein you will have all that you will ask for. An entertainment from the Most Forgiving, the Ever Merciful’ (41: 31- 33).

Imam- Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam International Hazrat Muhyiuddin Al Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius is a servant of the Faith of Islam in this era. Specially chosen and elected by the God Almighty with His nearness and communion; just like the Israelite prophets and divine messengers mentioned in the Holy Qur’an and also as the Book of God promises true believers in every era, Hazrat Azim (aba) is bestowed with sublime communications from the Unseen known in Islamic terminology as Divine revelations. Although not trained in any secular, modern University or other religious/ theological institutions, Hazrat Azim (aba) is blessed with a deep understanding of the language of heavenly birds. A treasure trove of spiritual perception and practical knowledge emanates from the communications he shares with the world. Indeed, the angels descend on him with an abundant of Divine messages containing purified wisdom for the betterment of human beings in this era, Subhaan Allah, Alhamdulillah, Allah-u-Akbar!

The highest purpose of religion is to lead the devotee to the state of Divine communion and the pure pleasure of Divine converse. Prophets and elects of God attain this stage of spiritual development. In a recent message, Imam Azim (aba) gave a profound insight into his intimate spiritual world where Allah (swt) speaks with His chosen servant- teaching him religious understanding and practical wisdom, and through him guiding souls choosing to follow this sublime path of pure Divine communion and converse. Citing the example of Hazrat Bilal (ra), the great companion of the Holy Prophet (sa); Hazrat Saheb (aba) points to the path of sincere Faith and pure commitment and devotion against all  challenges in this mundane world, and the resulting opening up of the path of Jannat of Divine nearness in this very world for the true believer, Insha Allah.

A ‘Mujaddid’ in Islam Today

‘You are the best people raised for the good of mankind; you enjoin what is good and forbid evil and believe in Allah. And if the People of the Book had believed, it would have surely been better for them. Some of them are believers, but most of them are disobedient.’ (Holy Quran, 3:111)

Allah mentions in His divine scriptures that this Muslim community is the best community among all. However, whether the contemporary Muslim community is deserving of this distinction is, unfortunately, a bitter truth to the contrary.

This noble community, which is meant to guide other societies, is now under the influence of Mullahs who propagate misleading interpretations. Consequently, Islam, which is fundamentally a path of peace, is portrayed as a ruthless and violent ideology.

Man of God, or a ‘Madman’?

Over the last two decades, the holy founder of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam International Hazrat Imam Muhyiuddin Al Khalifatullah Al Mahdi Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius has acknowledged the Divinely-inspired nature of his spiritual mission- to revive spiritually ‘dead’ hearts with inner virtues, and thereby renew the true spirit of Islam among the believers in this era. In support of his lofty mission in service of the Faith, Hazrat Azim (aba) cites the Holy Qur’an, the prophetic traditions, the experience of the great saints who preached pure teachings of Islam in the centuries gone by, and the fact that he himself is a direct recipient of divine revelations from the Almighty through Holy Spirit [Rooh’il Qudus].

Hence, like a Mughal Sultan with an imperial standard/ Royal Titles who presided over a large nation, the spiritual king of this era could also be easily recognized provided you have the spiritual lens to appreciate Divine Signs. By the grace of Allah (swt), to make it easy for people to recognize the mission of this humble servant of God, several special designation titles have been divinely-bestowed upon him in this era: ‘Hazrat’, Amir-ul-Mu’mineen, Muhyiuddin, Mujaddid, Khalifatullah, Muslih Maoud, Massih Maoud, and 'Dhulqarnain', i.e., 'the one who arrives at the cusp of two epochs'. Is it a mere coincidence that Hazrat Saheb (aba) began his spiritual mission around 2001?

The Prophecy about ‘Mathil-e-Massih’

Many Ahmadis today are ignorant about the true conception of their beliefs. As a consequence, they have lost sight of the Sahih Al Islam that true Ahmadiyyat stands for. Instead of worshipping Allah (swt) and obeying His commands as explained by the Holy Prophet (sa) and the Promised Messiah (as), these Ahmadis are now enamoured of their priests and chiefs among them, and they follow their Caliph in his profound doctrinal mistakes, God Forbid. Today, Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya rejects every possibility of Divine guidance except the one that may come through their assembly-elected Caliph, making him infallible arbiter in the spiritual destiny of millions. The Nizam-e-Jamaat evades and ignores the Word of God when it stands against their  material interests, family prestige, and institutional designs, especially on the divine prerogative of appointing a Prophet or Mujaddid in a new era.

The Promised Messiah (as) never indicated the current structure of the Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya as the only institutional design compatible with Divine Will. Even in his final Book, the testamentary declaration AL WASIYYAT, while asking his disciples to remain united by taking the oath of allegiance with one among them, the Promised Messiah (as) indicated that a time would come when it would become necessary for Allah (swt) to raise someone with Rooh-ul-Qudus (Holy Spirit) to guide and steer the community on the correct path.

Today, Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya rejects such a possibility altogether by mystifying the office of Khalifatul Massih with all temporal and spiritual power so much so that myopic and ignorant Ahmadis wonder, ‘can someone possibly claim to be above the Khalifatul Massih!’ Despite the myth-making by the Ahmadis on the office of the ‘Khalifatul Massih’, the reality remains that the Promised Messiah (as) has left behind a rich legacy of writings that point to the advent of the likes of the Messiah even in future. All theological engineering designed to mask the idolatry in the vanguard of the Nizam-e-Jamaat is bound to crumple before the Day of Judgement, Insha Allah, Aameen.

The Deceit of the Fifth Caliph

Can a Prophet or a Mujaddid still appear? Where does the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya (Qadian) stand today on the question of the appearance of a servant of God in this era? Can someone appear with Divine revelations in the presence of the Electoral Assembly-elected Khalifatul Massih system in the Nizam-e-Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya? These questions are of vital importance for spiritual seekers who worship only Allah (swt) and are eager to follow revealed guidance concerning His commandments. We are living in 1445 AH; the Fifteenth Century of the blessed Hijrah era; 45 years have gone by in the present Century of Islamic Calendar. Can a Mujaddid appear in the times of the elected Caliph in the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya in this new era, a century after the death and departure of the Promised Messiah Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) of Qadian [1835-1908]?

Many thoughtful Ahmadis today seek answers for the aforesaid questions in their own midst, despite being deeply aware of the limits of the current system of leadership in the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya to honestly and frankly address the same. On his part, instead of guiding people on the reality of Divine guidance,  the present Caliph, Khalifatul Massih V Mirza Masroor Ahmad Saheb, has been evading and avoiding this question for long through adopting evasive strategies; often ridiculing the intelligence of the questioners and attributing motives to truth seekers who raise this issue of Divine guidance. Against the lessons of history, and the manifest wisdom of Prophetic teachings on the advent of a Mujaddid in a new century of Islam, the Fifth Caliph has been challenging common sense- claiming that Nizam-e-Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya is enough for spiritual guidance for the whole world of Islam even in the new century, and there is no need for a Divinely-inspired Mujaddid for the same!

Khalifatullah’s India Visit 2023

Alhamdulillah, Summa Alhamdulillah, Imam- Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam International Hazrat Muhyi-ud-Din Al Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius, and the International Sadr of the Siraj Makin Djawaharatul Kamal- the women’s wing of the Jamaat- Hazrat Ummul Mu’mineen Fazli Amena Varsally completed a historic visit to India between 16 January and 10 February 2023. The Holy visit took place under the will and shade of Allah's Grace in the dawn of a New Year, literally marking a new page in the Book of Time and the evolving spiritual lives of the Jamaat members in India, Masha Allah, Allah-u-Akbar!

In spite of the manifold and diverse Deeni works that keep them busy all through the year, Hazrat Khalifatullah (aba) and Hazrat Ummul Mu’mineen International Sadr Saheba chose to find time and be with the disciples and followers in India for a period of almost a month. The presence of these blessed servants of God in India- a journey that took place despite several hurdles, marked a spiritually- uplifting, and morally- ennobling experience for all those who were in the circle of the Divine Manifestation during those days of the Holy visit, Subhaan Allah.

Disciples and followers of the Khalifatullah (aba) will certainly cherish for a long time the spiritual warmth and filial affection showered by him upon all of them all through the visit, in Tamil Nadu, in Kerala and elsewhere. Like the sunshine and the rain, the servants of God embraced all those who came in search of Divine Grace and succour in their midst. Many devout souls recognized the privilege of joining the High representative of God – the Khalifatullah- in his long invocations and sublime prayers, and the opportunity to directly listen to discourses on finer points of spiritual wisdom, and to hear about Allah’s help and assistance amidst all trials and tests of faith in the everyday lives of those who believe and entrust their affairs to the wisdom and grace of the All Knowing, the All Aware,- relying entirely on the will and pleasure of God, Alhamdulillah. Indeed, the Holy visit gave members of the Jamaat a unique and special opportunity to join and experience the signs of Divine presence and manifestations in their own surroundings in everyday life, Subhaan Allah, Masha Allah, Allah-u-Akbar!

'Khalifatullah' and Revolution

Man's duty on earth is to recognize the station of our Unique Lord and worship Him through righteous living. We are Divinely-ordained to serve fellow beings like family, and also the other creatures on the face of earth, and not to indulge in excesses, nor seek to domineer over other peoples- as all are the children of the same Creator, with similar freedoms and rights like us. This is the message of the Prophets and other Elects of God who appear among the people from time to time and they speak with the help of Roohil Quddus (Holy Spirit),  sharing Divine revelations containing glad tidings for good deeds in service of fellow beings, and also warnings against evil, or the Satanic impulses. Put differently, the men of God appear with the purpose of teaching the Law of true life and the Way of Divine favours.

Yet, the treacherous terrain of Satanic impulses divert man to the aggressive pursuit of material glory and honour, of  pride and riches, of power and pelf. When a people or a nation is drunk on the evil and injustice of dominance and of total control, enslavement and oppression of another people inevitably follows. Such a vicious and decadent socio-political-religious order is bound to bite the dust through its internal contradictions when a new, superior order emerges to replace it. This is the law of the rise and fall of nations in the world.

The coming of a Khalifatullah in this context represents a transformative moment when an old order crumples to dust and a new spiritual order takes its place in the world. In the spiritual history of human kind, High representatives of Allah have always been raised amongst almost all nations and peoples. Indeed,  It is the pierce light of Divine commandments that help the messengers to guide their people with wisdom and prudence against all odds. It is by obeying Allah and following in the footsteps of the messenger of God that small bands of Divinely-inspired groups outsmart their much larger opponent groups, relying completely upon the Exalted Might of the Lord, and in their own readiness to sacrifice everything in His way. The revolutionary transformation in the spiritual outlook of such wo/men comes about due to the sublime teachings and noble example of the Divine savant in their midst. The larger purpose of the establishment of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam in this era, with the advent of the Khalifatullah Hazrat Munir Ahmad Azim Saheb (aba) of Mauritius, is indicative of the continued vitality and application of the time-tested Divine Law of spiritual revolution, Alhamdulillah, Summa Alhamdulillah.

Reproduced Below are extracts from the Friday Sermon of 28 May 2021 ~15 Shawwal 1442 AH delivered by Imam- Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam Hazrat Khalifatullah Munir A. Azim (aba) of Mauritius.

The Objectives of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam- 1

The goal of Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam in this world is revolution in governance (This is - one of the meanings of: Arise and Create a New World’)

'Tawheed' and 'Taqwa': The Road to Renewal

The Revival of Islam
And when guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows My guidance - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve. (Al-Baqara 2: 39).

By the grace of Allah, it gives me great pleasure to address you all my disciples in Kottar (Tamil Nadu, India) today on “The Revival of Islam”.

Allah says in the Holy Quran, in the verses that I have just recited before you (in Surah Al-Baqara, Chapter 2, Verse 39):

And when guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows My guidance - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

Since the creation of the heaven and earth and man, Allah has sent again and again over so many centuries His chosen servants who came with the Holy Spirit (Ruh’il Quddus) to bring back the people on the right path. Why did these chosen servants of Allah had to come? It is because, after the passage of time, Satan and his army deviate from time to time – to be precise, he keeps on trying to deviate – people from the path of Allah, and thus, Allah, to save the people from spiritual deaths, send to them His special people, messengers coming from Him, blessed with divine revelations and guidance and the power of prophecy to warn the people of the traps of Satan and to show them the right path.

This right path is primarily the Tawheed, i.e. the Unicity of Allah and Taqwa, i.e. the fear of Allah. If the people establish themselves on Tawheed and have Taqwa, then the fear of the Satan and all his attractions will have no effect on them.

Why Follow A Mujaddid-II

"He who dies without having a pledge of allegiance (to the Imam/Khalifah) on his neck, dies the death of Jahilliyah."-- Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa)

'Allah’s Messenger (sa) said three times: May Allah’s mercy be upon my Caliphs.  The Companions said: ‘And who are your Caliphs, O Messenger of Allah?’ He said: ‘Those who revive my Sunna and teach it to the people!’" (According to al-Hasan bin ‘Ali (ra): Ibn ‘Asakir in Tarikh Dimashq al-Kabir, 51/61)

"The obligation of appointing an Imam (Khalifah) is from the necessities of the Shari'ah that simply cannot be left." - Imam Al-Ghazzali

It is regrettable that most Muslims today are simply unaware of the deep verities of the Faith they otherwise claim to profess and even practice. People in their ignorance and stupidity usually remain satisfied with what they are habitually familiar with- inherited family traditions, ritual practices and the tales of dead and gone Divine savants in their communities. So much so that by their sheer negligence of profound teachings - especially those pertaining to the advent of Divinely-imbued souls to guide the Ummah in every era of Islam-, the folks do not recognize what they are missing out in experiential spirituality or the rich inner life that the Islamic Way promises to the Divine-seekers.

Against this indifference of contemporary peoples stand the rich record of the past. Indeed through the millennium and more of Islamic history, the Divinely-raised Mujaddidin had left their imprints on Islamic spirituality in every era. As Shah Waliullah Dehlawi (ra) noted in one of his books: "A Mujadid appears at the end of every century, the Mujadid of the 1st century was Umar bin Abdul Aziz for establishing justice. The Mujadid of the 2nd century was Imam Shafi for explaining the Aqa’id and Fiqh. The Mujadid of the 3rd century was Abu Hasan al Ashari for formulating the sciences of Ahl us Sunnah and refuting the innovators. The Mujadid of the 4th century was Imam al Hakim and Al Baihaqi for laying the foundations in Hadith sciences and Abu Hamid Isfara’ini for spreading Ilm of Fiqh. In the 5th century was Imam Ghazzali for opening new paths in Fiqh, Kalaam and Tasawwuf. In the 6th century was Fakhr ud-Din Razi for spreading knowledge of Kalaam while Nawawi spread knowledge of Fiqh.” [Shah Walliullah in his Izalat al-Khafa]

Like many saints of Islam in the past, in the previous century, the Promised Massih and Mahdi Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) of Qadian also offered layers of spiritual and logical explanations to ‘normalize’ the phenomenon of Divine Manifestations among the Muslim believers. Through his comprehensive and all pervading engagement with the spiritual doctrine in all its settings, the Promised Massih (as) has left behind an extraordinary range of explanations emphasizing the need for recognizing an Elect of God whenever such a person announces his spiritual mission of renewal of the Faith. The Promised Massih (as) noted that Allah (swt) maintained the institution of Reformers (Mujaddidin) after the Seal of the Prophets, because along with their own practical example, these personages command a spiritual attraction and influence, and virtue of the highest degree could be observed in their persons-  a path of spirituality that any thoughtful person would inherently find appealing.

Why Follow A ‘Mujaddid’- I

Islam after the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa)

Contemporary Muslim world is riddled with profound paradoxes and deep ironies both in its secular and spiritual realms. Muslims today stand at the crossroads of time: from providing frameworks for the profound transformation of whole communities and nations, and guiding people on the virtues of inner peace and social equilibrium; the Muslims have come to witness periods of decline and fall in their political and spiritual fortunes as well. Severe trials of history in the forms of colonialism and imperialism- the long onslaught of alien economic, military and ideological dominance over the Muslim lands- scarred the psyche of many Muslim societies and peoples. Even in the face of the jealous machinations of the enemies and the many failings of its claimed adherents, it is astonishing that Islam could survive and flourish against all oddsIndeed, by all indications and empirical projections, Islam is poised to outgrow all other religions and is destined to embrace every nook and corner of this world in the foreseeable future. Insha Allah, Aameen.

The Path of the Saints: Mujaddid/Muhaddith/Khalifatullah

Notwithstanding the clear intimations of Divine favour on Islam as the paramount belief system of the evolving future; it is deeply ironical that the religion is besieged by simmering internal crises. Much of the Islamic world is beset with looming fires of various kinds amidst deepening sectarian divisionsAt a time when the propaganda against Islam as an oppressive social order (God forbid) remains raging in non-Muslim public/ social circles, it is also disconcerting that there is a glaring disconnect between the ideals of the Faith and the realities of practice in every day life among the Muslims.

Since most Muslims today have an imperfect understanding of Divine commandments and religious doctrines they have inherited from their pious ancestors, it is a religious imperative that the spiritual appeal and ethical beauty of Islam is reclaimed and renewed by living testimonials in the everyday life of the community at large. It is instructive to note in this context vital Islamic teachings regarding the continuity of spiritual vicegerency in every era of Islam through the advent of some perfect followers of the Light of Muhammad (sa). Indeed the Qur'an makes a spiritual promise that Allah (swt) shall raise His special servants with a mandate to hold aloft the torch of Faith and for the renewal/re-birth of sublime morals of Islam among the believers. Such teachings about the coming of the Saints of the Faith to serve as the guiding stars even in times of crises and confusion powerfully point to the inner vitality of the Islamic Way. If Islam has survived and continues to endure as the Holy Path of God despite all the political crises in Muslim lands, it is indeed in large measure due to the instrumental and exemplary roles of the extraordinary men (and women) of God who appeared to serve the Faith over the centuries.

Mujaddidin will continue to Appear

The Promised Massih Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) of Qadian was a spiritual polymath, steeped in all the religious sciences. He spoke with extraordinary urgency and consistency on the need for the wider acceptance within the Muslim Ummah of forgotten Islamic teachings- regarding advent of Divinely-imbued souls such as a Mujaddid/Muhaddith/Khalifatullah among the Muslims in every era.

Perhaps some of the finest explanations on the purpose and significance of such Divine Manifestations in Islam is found in the enduring writings of the Promised Massih (as). In an era in which his own so called followers and disciples have completely trampled to dust the great legacy of the Promised Massih (as) by ignoring and evading the Divine Manifestation of this era among the Ahmadis in the person of Hadhrat Muhyi-ud-Din Al Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim Saheb (atba) of Mauritius, it is all the more important to revisit his thoughts and reclaim his profound reflections on the advent of Mujaddidin and Muhaddithin among the believers. Reproduced below are certain extracts from the Speeches and Discourses (‘Malfoozat’) of the Promised Massih (as) on the theme:

If now is not the time for the advent of the awaited one, the earliest that he can appear now is after a hundred years. For a divinely appointed Reformer (Mujaddid) must always appears at the head of the century”. -----The First Address of the Promised Messiah (as) at the Annual Convention on 25 December 1897).

'Laila-tul- Qadr': Rise of a 'Mujaddid'/ 'Khalifatullah'

In the Muslim spiritual imagination, the month of Ramadan is deeply embedded as the sacred month of Fasting for the sake of God Almighty. The month also reminds us about the advent of Divine revelations on the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) and the sacred birth of the Holy Qur'an! Indeed the Holy Qur'an itself acknowledges that it was in the blessed nights of Ramadan that the very first verses began to be revealed on the Holy Prophet of Islam (sa). The Holy Book says: “The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong).” [2:185] “Verily! We have sent it (this Qur'an) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree). [97:1].  "Truly, We revealed it in a blessed Night"(44:3).

Distinguished lexicographers and Qur'an scholars have noted that wherever the Qur'an speaks of "Lailah", it has a deep connection with the descent of Divine revelations. The saints of Islam had noted the profound connection of "Lailat-ul-Qadr" with the advent of Muhaddith (recipient of Divine revelations), "Khalifatullah" (Caliph of God) and Mujaddid (Divine reformer) in every era of Islam. The Promised Massih Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) of Qadian also sought to educate and remind the Muslims of his era about the significance of 'Lailat-ul-Qadr' and the deep spiritual verities of Surah Al Qadr, especially with regard to the raising of great spiritual souls in every era of Islam as 'Mujaddid', 'Muhaddith', 'Khalifatullah', etc.

Reproduced below are the words of Hadhrat Massih Maoud (as) from one of his books, Fateh-e-Islam:

Allah gives glad tidings to the faithful in Surah Al Qadr that His prophet and His revelation descended from the heaven during the period of Laila-tul- Qadr (the Night of Decree).

Every Muhaddath and Mujaddid who is commissioned by Allah always appears during the Night of Decree.

Do you understand what is meant by the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree or the Laila-tul- Qadr is the name of a night when spiritual darkness reaches its ultimate gloom. That gloom, metaphorically, demands a light from heaven for its dissipation. This night is symbolically called the Night of Decree. In fact, it is not a night, but a period, which is referred to as a ‘night’ because of its intense darkness.

One thousand months is the approximate life span of a human being. It is also a period after which normal human senses ceases to functionThe elapse of a period of one thousand months, following the demise of a Prophet or his spiritual successor also signals the commencement of a ‘night’ of darkness. This ‘night’ triggers fervour in the heavens and the seeds of the birth of one or more reformers (Mujaddidin) is stealthily sown. Thus such a Mujaddid or prepare to emerge at the head of the new century. The following verse is also an indication by Allah towards this phenomenon:

“The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months” (Surah Al Qadr, 97:4) .

Hazrat Ahmad: A Life Divine

Remembering the Promised Messiah

Today is 23 March 2018, and it's been 129 years since the Promised Messiah, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) of Qadian, founded the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam and accepted the oaths of allegiance (Bai'at) from his 40 disciples in the house of Sufi Ahmad Jan in Ludhiana. The first person who took the oath from the hand of the Promised Messiah (as) was Hazrat Maulvi Nuruddin (ra) of Bhera who later became the first caliph of the Promised Messiah (as) - Khalifatul-Massih Awwal.

In Mauritius and other countries of the world, this historic day is known as: “Promised Messiah Day” and we, the Ahmadi Muslim, take this opportunity to speak about the life and aspects of the mission of the Promised Messiah (as).

Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) belonged to a Persian clan named Burlass. Among his ancestors was Mirza Hadi Baig, who emigrated from his hometown Samarkand (Khurasan) to settle in India accompanied by two hundred people from among his clan who included his family and his employees. He was a very noble person, a scholar and a pious person. India was at that time under the reign of the Mughal emperor Babar (1483-1530), and the emperor had given vast expanses of land to Mirza Hadi Baig as a gift for his loyal services. (Inset: Illustration of Babur, founder of the Mughal Empire in India, 1526-1857)

Thereafter Mirza Hadi Baig chose a portion of this vast land, and decided to settle there with his clan. He then founded a city and named it Islampur and with the passage of time, the name Islampur passed through several forms of change and was known as Islampur Qadi Maajhi, and then simply Qadi Maajhi, and then Qadi, and where finally this city was known like Qadian.

On the "Charlie Hebdo" Attack in Paris

The European religious history in the last millennium is stained with despicable attacks on Islam and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa). The culprits, in their ignorance and hostility, seek to insult and defame the faith of the Muslims, parading and projecting a most hateful image of the religion of Allah (twa) and slandering and caricaturing  the fair name of its Holy Founder so as to destroy his reputation in the eyes of the general public in their societies. Contemporary caricaturing of the Holy Prophet (sa) in the Western media essentially inherits this imbecility from that unfortunate legacy of hate speech and blasphemy, and all of this is indulged in the sacred name of liberty of expression and press freedom.

As a Divinely-raised Warner and the Mujaddid (Reviver of Faith among the Muslims) of our times, Hadhrat Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius has, on several occasions in the last decade, spoken up against this caricaturing of the Holy Prophet of all Muslims in the western press, warning that such offences are punishable in this very world and the repercussions shall be worst for the culprits and their societies. In the aftermath of the recent incidents involving Charlie Hebdo, political analysts confirm that the attacks indeed constitute an "earthquake" for the French society, parading the inadequacies of the French Republic to come to terms with the societal transitions in its backyard and the collective failures in imagining a shared future that accommodates the diversities and integrate the people on the basis of its professed, foundational principles of liberty, equality and fraternity. The astonishing prophecy issued by Hadhrat Sahib (atba),  warning the Charlie Hebdo and the likes in 2011,  had been documented at that time in the Blog and can be read here

Presented below are brief remarks on the Chalie Hebdo attack in Paris made by the Hadhrat Khalifatullah (atba) in his Friday Sermon of January 16, 2015:

Before coming to the heart of my Khutba Jummah (Friday Sermon) on the duties and obligations of parents towards their children, I would like to say few words concerning the Paris “Charlie Hebdo” attack.

As you all know by now, on Wednesday 7th January 2015 some people opened fire on the newspaper staffs (among others) of “Charlie Hebdo” in France (12 victims), in one of the abominable bloodshed on the soil of France, as the news channel and other media do not hesitate to state. And as usual, Islam is being blamed for such atrocity and not the people behind it.

And as you all know, years ago, around 2006 and 2011, in the backdrop of the first cartoon calumniation of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), I issued a prophecy, a clear warning that those who shall play with the purity of the person of the Holy Prophet of Islam shall be punished by Allah, the Most High. Indeed liberty of expression is one thing and calumniating the heart of a religion on the basis of a so-called liberty of expression is another. Indeed the Messenger of Allah cannot tolerate that a single calumniation be brought on the person on the Holy Prophet of Islam (pbuh) and I shall continue to defend his honour till my last breath.

A 'Mujaddid' after the Promised Massih

“Innii jaa-ilun fil arzi Khalifah”

I am going to place My Vicegerent (Caliph) in the earth. (Chapter 2 Verse 31)

Fa-immaa ya-ti-yan-nakum-minnii hudan faman tabi-a hudaa-ya falaa khawfun alayhim wa laa hum yah-zanuun.

Surely there will come to you guidance from Me, then whoever follows My guidance, no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve. (Chapter 2 Verse 39)

In light of these two verses that I read to you, we see that it (appearance of an Elect of Allah) is a blessing from Allah, not men.

Once man has reached a certain degree of mental maturity, God has sent prophets to guide him. The advent of these prophets is a great manifestation of God’s grace and a source of His many blessings. When these prophets die, Allah favours the world by giving it another manifestation of His grace – blessing its people by sending Mujaddidin, Reformers, and Revivalists, Messiahs or even Caliphs of Allah (Khalifatullah).

The Caliph of Allah (Khalifatullah) as Allah Himself has made clear “Innii jaa ilun fil-Arzi Khalifah”, i.e., Allah Himself, the Most High will place His Khalifah on Earth, and it is not by the vote of men that this Khalifah will be elected. This is by no means the same as the election of a minister or an MP. A Khalifatullah is unique. Why? Because he is not elected by the hand of men, but rather, he is established by God and chosen by Him, Himself. This means that the Khalifatullah is not only intellectually and spiritually speaking, the Chosen One of Allah, but he also commands by his status the highest moral quality. It is for these reasons that a Khalifatullah becomes for the Ummah of Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) a wealth of blessings.

This divine manifestation has been amply demonstrated by God, with the arrival of a Khalifatullah where there is a spiritual revolution, especially when Islam (the universal religion) is now in a painful and difficult situation. Problems did not wait to come to the surface. When we see many so-called Muslims, and great defenders of Islam trampling the teachings of Islam, we realize that they are Muslims in name only.

Now let us see what the Promised Messiah, the founder of Jamaat Ahmadiyya (on him be peace) has said. In his book Shahadat’ul Quran (on pg. 48 - 60), the Promised Messiah (on him be peace) said:

“‘Qudrat-e-Saniyah’ is everlasting and will end till the day of Judgement”. The meaning of the Promised Messiah (on him be peace), in this sentence concerning the word “Qudrat-e-Saniyah” implies to “Khilafat”. And according to the Promised Messiah (on him be peace), “Khilafat” does not only implies to “Khilafat-e-Rassool” but it also implies to “Mujaddid”. The Promised Messiah (on him be peace) believes that “Khilafat” includes “the four rightly guided successors of Rassool” and Allah willed that it should continue to exist permanently till the Day of Judgement.

Thus, the Promised Messiah (on him be peace) has not declared the “Ahmadiyya Khilafat” everlasting in his writings. What he has declared everlasting are two things: (1) Qudrat-e-Saniyah (2) Islamic Khilafat.
