Advices for the Muslims

Strive hard—O valiant ones!—

so that the Faith may gain strength,

And freshness and elegance may flourish

in the garden of Islam.

Friends!

Should you have compassion for the plight of Islam,

You will be—in the eyes of God—akin to

the Companions of the Prophet.

Hypocrisy and discord will be removed from the ignorant;

Perfect harmony, brotherhood, and friendship will be cultivated.

So rise up to strive, for surely from God’s court,

Assistance will appear for the helpers of Islam.

Should any sympathy for the honour of the Faith

burn in you this day—

I swear by Allah—

ye shall likewise attain dignity and honour.

Should ye extend forth the hand of generosity

for the victory of Islam,

Likewise shall ye behold

the sudden manifestation of the Hand of Power.

Lavish spending in His way

left no one a pauper;

God Himself is the Helper

if you cultivate the resolve.

O Friends!

Spend the fleeting days of your life in serving the Faith;

For, in the final hour,

death comes with a hundred regrets.

Fulfill the needs of the Faith,

so that your needs be fulfilled—

In the face of hundreds of disappointments, pains, and sufferings,

You will experience Divine mercy.

Look at how the Ansar [Helpers] of the Prophet (sa) worked

To realize that serving the Faith generates a fountain of wealth.

Strive with your heart and soul

that some service be rendered by you;

If you produce this sweet sherbet,

you will attain everlasting life.

The reward of the service will be conferred upon you freely—

O brother!—otherwise,

This is the heavenly decree

That will certainly be fulfilled.

I see that it is the will of God—the Almighty and Holy—

That Islam arise, once again, to its power and glory.

O my Benevolent God!

Shower abundant graces upon the one

who is a helper of the Faith,

And if a calamity befalls, do avert it.

O God, the All-Powerful!

Keep him so content,

That his every situation and circumstance

Manifest into Paradise.

Alas!

My people pay no heed to my wailing and crying;

I admonish them in every way—

would they but take heed!

I do not believe that they will open their eyes,

Until they cultivate righteousness, piety, and fear of God.

They deem me to be a deceiver, liar, and worse than disbelievers.

I cannot understand why they hate the light of God.

Are you amazed—

O ye heedless and careless of the Faith!—

That amidst this darkness,

a fountain of life sprung forth from God?

Why should anyone be surprised that

A remover of heedlessness has been raised

for those intoxicated with slumber?

O my people!

Have you forgotten the Ahadith of the Prophet of Allah,

That a Reformer of the Ummah would be raised

At the head of every century?'
