Mubahala Challenge to Maulvi Ismail

Maulvi Muhammad Ismail HA, one of the leading Ulema of the Ahmadiyya Community in Kerala, has been spreading canards against the new Messenger of Allah and his disciples in Kerala, India for some time now.  In order to retain the loyalty and blind faith of ordinary Ahmadis in the system itself, he converted the sacred precincts of Mosques into theaters of cheap wit and abused his position to raise spurious charges against the Khalifa of Allah. [Inset: the Pazhayangadi Mosque and the Maulvi SahibIn his Friday Sermon of March 11, 2011, Khalifatullah Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius thus publicly challenged this Maulana for a Mubahila Duel "so that the world, the Ahmadi people and his caliph may know who really the liar is”

We are presenting below the relevant extracts from the Sermon:

"I have gotten the needed information about the one who spread the false rumour of financial corruption on this humble person. He is none other than the Molvi Muhammad Ismail H.A (the senior Muballigh of the Ahmadi in Kerala). He is the foremost person to have spread this false rumour and verily soon he shall taste of the evil consequences of his actions.  He not only spread such lies on this humble self but he also is playing God as to say that the death of someone is due to his father’s disobedience to the Ahmadiyya Caliphate and his acceptance of the New Messenger of this era. God forbid, according to this so-called Maulana, the father commits sin whereas the son pays for it? Now, he is spreading the words that beware of forthcoming deaths of the sons of the disciples of this humble Messenger.

A prophecy on the Renewal of Islam

“He it is Who has raised among the Unlettered people a Messenger from themselves who recites unto them His Signs, and purifies them, and teaches them the Book and wisdom, although they had been, before, in manifest misguidance;

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them. He is the Mighty, the Wise.

That is Allah’s grace; He bestows it on whom He pleases; and Allah is the Master of immense grace”.     [Holy Qur’an, 62: 3-5]

These verses from the Surah Al Jum’ah point to the appearance of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) among the unlettered Arabs and to the same spiritual phenomenon repeating through a great Deputy of the Holy Prophet in the latter Days. A well known Hadith of the Holy Prophet (sa) throws light on the issue. Says Abu Hurairah:

One Day we were sitting with the Holy Prophet when Surah Jum’ah was revealed. I asked the Holy Prophet,

Who are the people to whom the words And among others from among them who have not yet joined them”, refer.

Salman, the Persian was sitting among us.Upon my repeatedly asking the same question,  the Prophet put his hand on Salman and said, If Faith were to go up to the Pleiades, a man from these would surely find it” (Bukhari).

Reflecting on the Hadith,  Khalifatullah Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) stated:

All of us do agree with this Hadith, that it refers to Hazrat Massih Maoud (a.s). No doubt in it. This question was being asked twice or thrice from this Hadith because Allah made His Rassool understand that when Imaan would go high up the furthest star, Surrayya, someone of Persian descendants of Salman Farsi (r.a) would bring faith back on earth. In other Hadiths, it is mentioned more than one person from his descendants. So, we understand fully that Hazrat Massih Maoud (a.s) was that chosen one to bring back faith on earth. Then when faith would go back to Surrayya again, people of his Jamaat will bring back faith to others. This Khalifa cannot appear from outside the Jamaat Ahmadiyya, the Jamaat of Hazrat Massih Maoud (a.s)

Now, how can Imaan which has gone till the furthest star Surrayya be brought back on earth? How Hazrat Massih Maoud (a.s) brought back that Imaan? Through revelations – Divine Revelations. Allah spoke to him and guided him how to bring faith into the heart of people. He had to exile himself completely from this materialist world to seek help from Allah. Surely, Allah has guided him through revelations how to achieve this task. Imaan did not reach the earth like this. Hazrat Massih Maoud (a.s) had to suffer a lot, in this field of his bad health and persecutions.

‘Khilafat on the precept of Prophethood’

Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius has been claiming for more than a decade now that Allah (swt) has indeed raised him with a Divine Mission, as His Khalifa and Mujaddid of this new century of the Islamic Era. He has been loudly proclaiming before the entire world that he has come as a blessing from the Lord Almighty for the Ahmadis and others who recognize the divine manifestation in this era, who has come in fulfillment of the glad tidings vouchsafed to the Promised Massih Hadhrat Ahmad (as) and also to the Musleh Maoud Hadhrat Mirza Bashir-ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad (ra). Verily, We have ever been sending Messengers, as a mercy from thy Lord. Verily, He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing”. (44:6-7).

We are presenting below certain extracts from the Friday Sermon of May 29, 2009 delivered by the Khalifatullah (atba) of our times. The sermon explains the role and status of a Divinely-raised Khalifatullah and points out that the coming of a Khalifatullah is within the purview of Khilafat on the precept of Prophethood’:

A Khalifatullah govern between the people by that which Allah the Almighty has revealed to him, and follow not their vain desires. The Khalifatullah must beware in case the opponent seduce him from just some part of that which Allah the Almighty has revealed to him. Khalifatullah means the Representative of Allah (God), and according to Islam he comes from Allah to guide mankind towards the Creator, thus by this means becomes the representative of the people spiritual and mundane welfare. He is God’s vicegerent, that is to say by virtue of the powers delegated to him, and within the limits prescribed by the Qur’an and the teaching of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). The Khalifatullah is required to exercise divine authority, he is not just an individual ruler who has to be restored, but is man’s representation of God’s authority on earth, and also by uniting Muslim nations through divine instructions and peaceful political action.

Khalifatullah: Vicegerent of Allah on Earth

“Innii jaa-ilun fil arzi Khalifah”

I am going to place My Vicegerent (Caliph) in the earth. (2:31).

Fa-immaa ya-ti-yan-nakum-minnii hudan faman tabi-a hudaa-ya falaa khawfun alayhim wa laa hum yah-zanuun.

Surely there will come to you guidance from Me, then whoever follows My guidance, no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve. (2: 39).

Reflecting on the aforesaid verses of the Holy Qur’an, Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib, the Khalifatullah of the Era, stated:

Once man has reached a certain degree of mental maturity, God has sent prophets to guide him. The advent of these prophets is a great manifestation of God’s grace and a source of His many blessings. When these prophets die, Allah favours the world by giving it another manifestation of His grace – blessing its people by sending Mujaddids, Reformers, and Revivalists, Messiahs or even Caliphs of Allah (Khalifatullah).

The Caliph of Allah (Khalifatullah) as Allah Himself has made clear Innii jaa ilun fil-Arzi Khalifah, i.e., Allah Himself, the Most High will place His Khalifah on Earth, and it is not by the vote of men that this Khalifah will be elected. This is by no means the same as the election of a minister or an MP. A Khalifatullah is unique. Why? Because he is not elected by the hand of men, but rather, he is established by God and chosen by Him, Himself. This means that the Khalifatullah is not only intellectually and spiritually speaking, the Chosen One of Allah, but he also commands by his status the highest moral quality. It is for these reasons that a Khalifatullah becomes for the Ummah of Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) a wealth of blessings.

This divine manifestation has been amply demonstrated by God, with the arrival of a Khalifatullah where there is a spiritual revolution, especially when Islam (the universal religion) is now in a painful and difficult situation. Problems did not wait to come to the surface. When we see many so-called Muslims, and great defenders of Islam trampling the teachings of Islam, we realize that they are Muslims in name only”.

The so-called Ahmadis can say that I am not an Ahmadi. They believed that I was once an Ahmadi, but they ceased to believe that now, only because I said, and am still saying: “I am getting revelation from Allah and I am the Khalifatullah.” They refuse my claim because according to them, there is an existing Khalifa. They have said that: “How is it possible that there is a Khalifa and you (Munir) says that Allah has chosen you as Khalifatullah. How is that possible?”

'Qudrat-e-Saniya': 'Khilafat is Ever-Lasting'

In their quest for perpetuating the authority of the their assembly-elected "Khalifa" within the Community, Ahmadis today deny the possibility of Allah sending any Mujaddid in future as His Elect to guide the community of Muslims. Further, they have raised the status of their elected Khalifa even above that of an Elect of Allah such as a Mujaddid. Since Hadhrat Ahmad (as) was an Elect of Allah and the Mujaddid of the Fourteenth Century, where does the Ahmadiyya Khulafa stand in spiritual status vis -a- vis him? Can their status be equal to, or even be above, the status of Hadhrat Ahmad (as)?! Are we to consider that given the lofty position to which Ahmadiyya Khulafa have been elevated, they have  every right to alter, bend and modify and thereby destroy the original teachings of Hadhrat Ahmad (as)? It is striking to note the manner in which the mainstream Ahmadiyya Community has moved away from the teachings of Hadhrat Ahmad (as) while claiming to be his ideal disciples.

We are presenting below certain extracts from the Friday Sermon of May 22, 2009 delivered by the Muhyi-ud-Din Khalifatullah Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib (atba) of Mauritius. This sermon graphically chronicles the original beliefs of the Promised Massih Hadhrat Ahmad (as) on the future divine guidance of the Muslims and asks some pertinent questions for Ahmadi friends to reflect upon:

“In his book Shahadat’ul Quran (on pg. 48 - 60), the Promised Messiah (on him be peace) said: “‘Qudrat-e-Saniyah’ is everlasting and will end till the day of Judgement”. The meaning of the Promised Messiah (on him be peace), in this sentence concerning the word “Qudrat-e-Saniyah” implies to “Khilafat”. And according to the Promised Messiah (on him be peace), “Khilafat” does not only implies to “Khilafat-e-Rassool” but it also implies to “Mujaddid”. The Promised Messiah (on him be peace) believes that “Khilafat” includes “the four rightly guided successors of Rassool” and Allah willed that it should continue to exist permanently till the Day of Judgement.

Thus, the Promised Messiah (on him be peace) has not declared the “Ahmadiyya Khilafat” everlasting in his writings. What he has declared everlasting are two things: (1) Qudrat-e-Saniyah (2) Islamic Khilafat.

(1) Qudrat-e-Saniyah includes “Khilafat” and not just the “Ahmadiyya Khilafat”, because the Promised Messiah (on him be peace) wrote in the same book Al-Wassiyat that this Qudrat is similar to the Qudrat which appeared in the form of Hazrat Abu Bakr, the first Islamic Khalifa which means “Qudrat-e-Saniyah” is comparable to the “Islamic Khilafat”.

The Second Coming of Musleh Mauod

One of the questions that our Ahmadi friends generally ask is this: Is there any Prophecy by an Ahmadiyya Khalifa regarding the coming of a divinely raised, spiritual personage in the Community?

The answer is a resounding YES!

Hadhrat Mirza Basheeruddin Mahmud Ahmad (r.a) (1889-1965) was not just the Second Khalifa of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. He was also, he claimed, the Musleh Maoud as prophesied by Hadhrat Ahmad (as). He officially stated in a meeting at Hoshiarpur on the 20th February 1944:

I do not say that I am the only Promised One and that no other promise one will appear till the Day of Judgement. It appears from the prophecies of the Promised Messiah that some other promised ones will also come and some of them will appear after centuries. Indeed, God has told me that at one time He will send me a second time to the world and I will come for the reform of the world at a time when association with God will have become widespread. This means that my soul will, at some time, descend upon someone who will possess faculties and capacities like mine and he will, following in my footsteps, bring about a reform of the world. Thus, promised ones will appear in their due times according to the promise of God Almighty.” (Ref: Ahmadiyyat, the Renaissance of Islam by Sir Zafrullah Khan p.293-294)

Hadhrat Munir Ahmad Azim Sahib, the Divinely-raised Massih of Allah in the new Century of Islam, states:

I have come, both as a spiritual son of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and as a spiritual son of the Promised Messiah (upon him be peace) and Allah did called me Musleh Maoud on the 20th February 2004. Allah promised me also that He shall elevate my honour stage by stage (step by step) and from being a Qamaram Munira, he elevated me as Khawja Nooruddin, Amir’ul Momeneen, Muhyi-ud-Din, Muslih-ud-Din, Khalifatullah, Rassoolullah (like published on Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam website) and Nabi’ullah all of these titles and honour pertaining to one fundamental task – not to fight with others about the honours which Allah has poured down upon this humble self and to justify myself – but to deliver the message of Allah, to reform the world and make it return back to the worship of Allah (twa) alone, leaving behind their idols.

My task is only like I have received several times throughout these twelve years, as a Bashir, a Nazir and a Mubasshir. I have come to warn. I do not have the power to change hearts. Changing the states of heart belongs only to Allah alone. I have come not as an intellectual but rather as a personification (the second coming) of my beloved master Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) as prophesied in Surah Jumu’ah. I have no extraordinary academic qualifications but it is my Allah my Teacher and Guide. It is Him who has raised me as His humble Messenger and this claim, I do it without any fear, for why fear man when Allah is the One who has raised me and Who is my Guardian”. The Role and Status of a Mujaddid

The fundamental religious obligations of a Muslim include the duty to recognize and accept and help the Divinely-raised Mujaddidin in every century. Common believers, including Ahmadis, are however, insufficiently aware about their responsibilities in this regard. What does a Mujaddid do? What is the function and status of a Mujaddid in the Divine scheme of things for Islam? Should the Believers be surprised if a Mujaddid comes in a new Century? We are presenting below certain extracts from the writings of Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) of Qadian (1835-1908 CE) that provide exceptionally illuminating answers to these basic questions:

Tajdid-e-Deen’ is that passion for the reformation of faith which descends upon such a heart that forges a state of communion with Allah. Then, sooner or later, this yearning of communion seeps into others. Those who are gifted with the status of a Mujaddid do not just trade in lifeless bones. Rather, they become the deputies of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) and indeed his spiritual successors (Khalifa). They inherit all the blessings that are granted to Prophets and Apostles. Their speech is effortless and spontaneous emanating from the inner core of the heart. Their speech is supplemented with noble deeds and personal experiences and is not the mere expression of theoretical knowledge. The revelation of Allah illumines their hearts. In all times of distress they receive guidance from the Holy Spirit. Their speech and conduct is not influenced by any worldly concern because they have been wholly purified and drawn towards Allah”. - [Victory of Islam, p.06, Qadian: Islam Int’l Publications, (2003)].
