When Evil Spreads Everywhere

The Signs of Qiyamah- 4

“But man desires to persist in his evil ways. He asks, “When will be this Day of Resurrection?” When eyes are dazzled and the moon is buried in darkness, and the sun and the moon are joined together, on that day man will say, “Where to escape?” Alas! There will be no refuge.” (Al-Qiyamah, 75: 6-12)

The situation in the world is becoming increasingly serious. We see corruption everywhere now, at all levels. Those in power are doing whatever they want to stay in power and to subject people to their will.

Among the Hadiths where our beloved Prophet speaks about the approach of the Hour, meaning the moments before the Day of Judgement takes place, he says: “Near the establishment of the Hour there will be days during which Religious ignorance will spread, knowledge will be taken away (vanish) and there will be much Al-Harj, and Al-Harj means killing [Al-Qatal] (murders, assassinations, etc.).” (Bukhari)

‘Work without Delay’

The Messenger of Allah Hazrat Muhammad (sa) said: ‘There are two blessings concerning which many people are cheated: health and free time.’ [Al-Bukhari]                                                                                                                                                                                *******

Embark upon works without delay, being as how there are trials like the portions of the dark night, when a man is a believer in the morning but a scoffer by bedtime, or is a believer one evening but a scoffer the next day. He sells his faith for the sake of something that happens to him.’

                                                                                *******

‘Undertake good works before seven things happen: distracting poverty, corrupting wealth, debilitating illness, befuddling senility, final death, the Dajjaal- and evil is the invisible one who waits and watches- or the Final Hour, which is more calamitous and more painful.’

A World in Moral Crisis

The Signs of Qiyamah- 3

'But man desires to persist in his evil ways. He asks, “When will be this Day of Resurrection?” When eyes are dazzled and the moon is buried in darkness, and the sun and the moon are joined together, on that day man will say, “Where to escape?” Alas! There will be no refuge.' (Al-Qiyamah, 75: 6-12)

The Eastern world, and even the Western world, are in a severe crisis. As the evolution of the human race changes, we also see that the environment of our world is changing. Today, there is a battle between humanism and power. There is also a religious revolt - in the name of religion - to seize lands that already belong to other countries. The blood of innocents is being shed. All this should make us reflect that the end of the world is approaching. Today, we are witnessing even more severe destructions than those that have occurred before, but there are also certain destructions that have happened in the past that have not yet been repeated but are threatening to occur.

First of all, we must be aware, O humanity, that if Almighty God has established certain fundamental laws, it is to set barriers so that evil does not spread in a worrying manner. Prophets, Messengers, and Reformers of Faith come to maintain this balance and bring people back to this awareness.

Zionist Wars and the Awaited Messiah

The Signs of Qiyamah- 2

'But man desires to persist in his evil ways. He asks, “When will be this Day of Resurrection?” When eyes are dazzled and the moon is buried in darkness, and the sun and the moon are joined together, on that day man will say, “Where to escape?” Alas! There will be no refuge.' (Al-Qiyamah, 75: 6-12)

Humanity is in danger. Islam is in danger. Muslims are in danger. Innocents are in danger. A global community that preserves modesty and faith in one God is being beaten, crushed, and killed in extremist Zionist wars. As I mentioned last Friday, the Jews are doing all this to hasten the arrival of their Messiah, while the Christian world watches this disaster without taking real action, merely talking, condemning, and not taking steps to stop the bloodshed of innocents in Palestine and Lebanon, where over 2400 people have died since last year. These attacks on Lebanon are not just from last year or this year; they date back to 1978. This is what true terrorism looks like!

'Qiyamah' and Palestine

The Signs of Qiyamah- 1

'But man desires to persist in his evil ways. He asks, “When will be this Day of Resurrection?” When eyes are dazzled and the moon is buried in darkness, and the sun and the moon are joined together, on that day man will say, “Where to escape?” Alas! There will be no refuge.' (Al-Qiyamah, 75: 6-12)

The end of the world and the Day of Judgement, referred to as Qiyamah, is a significant event whose timing is unknown to everyone (except Allah). This knowledge is possessed solely by Allah. However, Allah has allowed the world to perceive its signs; signs indicating its imminent approach.

'Struggle against Self'

The Advent of the Seal of all Prophets, Muhammad (pbuh)

'O Prophet, We have sent you as a witness, a bearer of good tidings, and a warner, calling people to Allah by His grace, and as a light-giving lamp.' (Al-Ahzab 33: 46-47).

Alhamdulillah, Summa Alhamdulillah
, today, I continue to speak on our beloved Master, Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh), and his status as the greatest prophet among all prophets. As I mentioned last week, while Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) is the greatest prophet and the last law-bearing prophet, it does not mean there will be no prophets after him. Prophets and Messengers of Allah will continue to come, but only from his own Ummah (community), and not from the communities that have rejected him (pbuh). This forms a chain of belief, where one Messenger confirms the other, and the new Messenger is born from the community and faith of the previous Messenger of Allah who has passed away.

‘Allah Teaches Me Wisdom’

‘Those who believed and kept to righteousness, for them are the glad tidings in the present life and also in the Hereafter.’ (10: 63-64)

‘As for those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah’, and then remain steadfast, the angels descend on them saying: ‘Fear you not, nor grieve; and rejoice in the Garden that you were promised. We are your friends in this life and in the Hereafter. Therein you will have all what your souls will desire, and therein you will have all that you will ask for. An entertainment from the Most Forgiving, the Ever Merciful’ (41: 31- 33).

Imam- Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam International Hazrat Muhyiuddin Al Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius is a servant of the Faith of Islam in this era. Specially chosen and elected by the God Almighty with His nearness and communion; just like the Israelite prophets and divine messengers mentioned in the Holy Qur’an and also as the Book of God promises true believers in every era, Hazrat Azim (aba) is bestowed with sublime communications from the Unseen known in Islamic terminology as Divine revelations. Although not trained in any secular, modern University or other religious/ theological institutions, Hazrat Azim (aba) is blessed with a deep understanding of the language of heavenly birds. A treasure trove of spiritual perception and practical knowledge emanates from the communications he shares with the world. Indeed, the angels descend on him with an abundant of Divine messages containing purified wisdom for the betterment of human beings in this era, Subhaan Allah, Alhamdulillah, Allah-u-Akbar!

The highest purpose of religion is to lead the devotee to the state of Divine communion and the pure pleasure of Divine converse. Prophets and elects of God attain this stage of spiritual development. In a recent message, Imam Azim (aba) gave a profound insight into his intimate spiritual world where Allah (swt) speaks with His chosen servant- teaching him religious understanding and practical wisdom, and through him guiding souls choosing to follow this sublime path of pure Divine communion and converse. Citing the example of Hazrat Bilal (ra), the great companion of the Holy Prophet (sa); Hazrat Saheb (aba) points to the path of sincere Faith and pure commitment and devotion against all  challenges in this mundane world, and the resulting opening up of the path of Jannat of Divine nearness in this very world for the true believer, Insha Allah.

‘Ummah’: The Signs of Decline

Religious communities emerged in history against the backdrop of the advent of Divinely-raised messengers and prophets. These elects of God invariably stood for true values of life; with ethically-sound teachings and wisdom of pure conduct, they guided their peoples to the light of Divine guidance. Indeed, the good example of the holy men remains among the people for a period of time. Then, in the ebb and flow of time and history, we see that as the memory of the Prophet recedes and become distant from the generations born later, the teachings of the Faith will be obscured, misunderstood, or distorted by lesser men either out of personal desires, or otherwise corrupted through encounter with other nations and their idolatrous ways.

Based on the spiritual history of the rise and fall of nations, Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) indicated to his companions and followers the Clear Signs that characterized the nations that were in terminal illness before their Final Fall: the spread of immorality, unjust enrichment, the breaking of Covenants and agreements, tyranny and persecution, sectarianism and strife, etc. According to several traditions emanating from the Holy Prophet of Islam (sa), Muslim Ummah will also undergo profound changes in the course of time and encounter different challenges and trials as the world approaches the End Times. Reproduced below are a number of Prophetic Traditions [Ahadith] that foretells about the decline in Faith and loss of morality and ethics in the End Times:

Family Duties of the Muslim

‘All of you are guardians and all of you are responsible for your subjects. A man is the guardian in his home and responsible for his wards and a woman in her home is a guardian and responsible for her wards.’ ---Prophet Muhammad (sa) [Reported by Al-Bukhari in his Sahih, Chapter: Friday prayer in villages and towns, 1/248-249: Hadith 893].

‘Indeed Allah will question everyone who is responsible about his charge, whether kept or lost.’ [Reported by Al-Tirmidhi in his Sunan, Book of Jihad, Chapter: Regarding the imam, 4/208, on the authority of Anas ibn Malik].

'Be Just and Righteous'

Timeless wisdom of the Holy Qur'an

‘You who believe, fulfil your obligations…’ (5:2)

‘Allah commands you to return things entrusted to you to their rightful owners, and if you judge between people, to do so with justice: Excellent is that which Allah instructs you, for He hears and sees everything.’ (4:59)

‘You who believe, be steadfast in your devotion to Allah and bear witnesses impartially: do not let hatred of others lead you away from justice, but adhere to justice, for that is closer to awareness of Allah. Be mindful of Allah: Allah is well aware of all that you do.’ (5:9)

'Stay Humble for Divine Mercy'

No matter how successful you are,

No matter how big your house,

No matter how new your car, or

How big your bank balances is,

Your grave will be the same size

As everyone else's

No matter how high up you get,

Never forget where you came from.

So keep your feet firmly on the ground

And stay humble.

When life is hard, pray

Never forget to pray,

Ethics of Just Ruling

Fairness

‘David, We have given you mastery over the land. Judge fairly between people. Do not follow your desires, lest they divert you from God’s path: those who wander from His path will have a painful torment because they ignore the Day of Reckoning.’ (Holy Qur’an, 38: 27)

The Holy Prophet (sa) said:

“An ant stung one of the prophets,

who then commanded that the ant nest be burned.

But Allah (swt) inspired the prophet:

‘If one ant bites you,

you burn one of the communities that glorify Allah?’”

'Be Kind to Animals'

According to Islamic teachings, birds and animals are communities like us human beings; just and kind treatment of animals is an obligation upon us. Kind treatment of animals is among the good deeds worthy of ultimate Divine rewards of forgiveness and salvation in the life to come. Likewise, cruel treatment of living beings entails consequences for the human soul. Explicit guidance of the Holy Prophet (sa) on the treatment of birds and animals leaves one with no doubt about the implications of our deeds vis-a-vis these living beings. Consider the following teachings of the Holy Prophet (sa).

According to Prophetic traditions, Allah (swt) thanked a man and forgave him for giving water to a panting dog eating moist earth in its thirst. The  Ahadith also confirm that ‘there is a reward for your kind treatment of every living being.’ The Holy Prophet (sa) also stated: ‘If any Muslim plants a tree or sows a crop, and then a bird, or a human being, or an animal eats of it, then it is sacred charity to his credit.’

Further, the Holy Prophet (sa) relates: ‘A woman entered Hellfire because of a cat that she kept tied up, neither feeding it nor letting it go to eat of the vermin of the earth.’

He also narrates, “one of the prophets stopped to rest under a tree, and an ant stung him. The prophet had his baggage removed from beneath the tree and ordered that fire be set to the ants’ abode. But then God inspired him with the thought, ‘Why not just one ant?’ ”

The Holy Prophet (sa) also states: ‘A prostitute was forgiven because she passed by a dog panting at a well, and observing that thirst was about to kill the dog, she removed her slipper, fastened it to her veil, and drew out some water for the dog. And so she was forgiven because of that.’

In response to a question on the cruel treatment of animals by human beings, Imam- Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam International Hazrat Muhyiuddin Al Khalifatullah Munir Ahmad Azim (aba) of Mauritius profoundly explains Islamic ethics on this vital issue.

Holy Prophet: The Perfect Role Model

'Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example for whoever has hope in Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah often.' (Al-Ahzab, 33: 22).

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was born in Mecca, Arabia, nearly six hundred years after Hazrat Isa (as) [Jesus]. At that time, his people were deeply involved in idolatry, and their society was marked by corruption and decay. The Jews in Arabia had formed tribes and settlements but did not spread the message of the Unicity of Allah beyond their community. Christianity was divided into many feuding sects, and its stronghold, the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantium), was in decline.

Muhammad: 'Khatam-an-Nabiyyin'

The Advent of the Seal of all Prophets, Muhammad (pbuh)

'O our Lord, send among them a Messenger from among themselves, who will recite to them Your Verses [revelations], teach them Your Book and Wisdom, and purify them. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise.'  (Al-Baqara 2: 130)

Hazrat Ibrahim (as) and Hazrat Isma’il (as) made a profound supplication, which Allah has mentioned in the Holy Quran, to endure until the Day of Judgement, and which gives the good news of the advent of Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) as an answer to their prayer.

Life of Hazrat Musa (as)

The Messengers of Allah

'The Messenger believes in what has been revealed to him from his Lord, and so do the believers. They believe in Allah, His angels, His Books, and His messengers. (They proclaim) “We make no distinction between any of His messengers.” And they say, “We hear and obey. (We seek) Your forgiveness, our Lord! And to You (alone) is the final return.” (Al-Baqara 2: 286)

Today, by the grace of Allah, I continue my series of sermons on the Prophets and Messengers of Allah. Last week, I spoke about how the Bani Isra’il found themselves in Egypt and how, over time, they became slaves under the tyrannical rule of the Pharaohs.

It was during that period that Allah planned to send Hazrat Musa (as) to warn Pharaoh so that he might reform. Allah narrates the life of Hazrat Musa (as) and his teachings in 22 Surahs of the Quran, with the most detailed accounts of his life and mission as a prophet found in 5 Surahs, namely: Surah Al-Araf, Surah Taha, Surah Ash-Shu’ara, Surah Al-Qasas, and Surah Ghafir (Al-Muminun).

'Karma' and 'Kifarah'

‘Are you rewarded for anything except what you have done?’ [27:92]

Whoever comes before God with a good deed will receive a better reward; whoever comes with an evil deed will be punished only for what he has done.’ (28:85)

‘He does not wrong anyone by as much as the weight of a speck of dust: He doubles any good deed and gives a tremendous reward of His own. (4:41)

In Hinduism and Buddhism, ‘Karma’ is the ‘sum of a person’s actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences.’ Many people believe in ‘Karma’ leading to multiple reincarnations in different states of existence before the human soul finds ultimate salvation. However, ‘Karma’, in general, is about good luck or bad fate; viewed as resulting from one’s actions.

From an Islamic perspective, we humans live only once in this world, and when we die, we leave forever from this world, only to give an account of our deeds on the Day of Resurrection and Judgement: man’s eventual fate is essentially linked to his own actions. On the Day of Judgement, man’s soul will testify on all deeds- good, or bad- to receive the true and enduring reward of Paradise, or the Fire of Hell as a consequence of one’s record of deeds.

Questions for Ahmadi Maulvis

To protect people of the Faith from doctrinal confusion and Satanic deviations and to preserve and guide them in the subtle and abstruse path of pure spirituality, Islam offers the prospects of perpetual Divine guidance through the advent of Divinely- imbued souls as servants of Faith in every era of Islam. In spiritual terminology, the Divinely-raised Reviver of the Faith is a true son, spiritual heir and successor to the Holy Prophet (sa), and he renews the true teachings of the Faith as it were in the days of the Prophet (sa) in a new century of Islam. Indeed, an appointed one of God when he is commissioned by the Lord Almighty with a spiritual mission of renewal and reform of the Ummah is known as a ‘Muhyiuddin’, ‘Mujaddid’, ‘Khalifatullah’, ‘Waliullah’, ‘Ma’mur-min-Allah’, ‘Ummati- Nabi’, ‘Imam Mahdi’, etc.

Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya, established by the Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi of the previous era, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) of Qadian, way back in 1889, is deeply rooted in the Islamic spiritual tradition of perpetual divine guidance. Like the Mujaddidin of Islam who appeared in all parts of the Islamic world over the millennium and more of Islamic history, Hazrat Mirza Saheb claimed to be a recipient of Divine communion and special messages with a view to reforming the Ummah of all its doctrinal confusions and divisions so as to renew the days of the Holy Prophet (sa) as a living, thriving religion in the Later Days. Furthermore, as for the future, the Promised Messiah (as) clarified in no uncertain terms that Allah (swt) will continue to raise Mujaddidin in every century as a favour of Divine Grace and Mercy and Favour upon the Muslim Ummah till the Day of Judgement.
